@daeus I like the sentence change. I do like @graciegirl‘s version too… So, yes. Not much help. Just general agreement…

@Daeus I like it! As Kate says… you were born to sell things. Writing about my book is one of my least favorite things. Can’t just writing the thing be enough? As for bittersweet, I looked it up int a thesaurus and it gave me poignant, nostalgic, affecting, touching, and sentimental. Not sure if any of those fit, but…

@dragon-snapper, LOL!
@warrioroftherealm, yeah, it totally answers the question. I like that concept. Especially if that is something the MC is usually really good at (sword fighting that is). forcing him out of his comfort zone is a great story choice. It can also force you to think of creative ways for him to get out of difficult situations,…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Yeah, I kinda figured I was wrong 😛 Thanks for the clarification – this will be handy for all of us to know! 😀

@daeus @dragon-snapper, yes, having no punctuation there looks right, but, not to question you or anything, Snapper, I think that the “Well” would be capitalised seeing as it’s the beginning of a sentence of dialogue for the character. I could be wrong, but there’s my two cents 😉 😛

@warrioroftherealm, I know this wasn’t really part of the question, but I’m curious what purpose this situation serves for the overall narrative. I know it is good to be as accurate as possible when it comes to these sorts of things, but there are always exceptions to the rule. You could make this experience extremely painful for the hero if…[Read more]

@Aratrea Oh, another question I’ve been wondering about. The disillusionment arc. No one seems to cover it fully. Even in the Character Arc book, it wasn’t as fully explained as some of the others. It would be very helpful to hear a point by point progression of a disillusionment arc with the same sort of EiL diagrams you’ve been using for the…[Read more]

@Aratrea Can a negative arc turn into a positive arc? If a character has a negative arc through the whole of the book and then, after losing everything and completely falling, could he have a brief positive arc (one that might be a chapter or two long) that brings him back to the truth and partial victory?

Saturday, February 25th would work best for me, though I should be able to be there on the other dates if they get picked. And I should be to lesson 8 by that time. 🙂

@Kate-Flournoy Cellphones, is it? Not something exciting like a sword? *scowls* Ah well.
You get a voicemail on your phone. Someone is pleading for help and you can hear your own voice yelling in the background. When you check the time stamp, you see it is dated five years in the future.

@Daeus and @Kate-flournoy you are in danger of becoming unoffensive due to a lack of opposition. Cliches are so much fun. 😀 I like twisting their endings, not actually using a complete cliched scene or idea, but starting with cliches and then making it turn into something else is a very useful technique.
