@aratrea Yes, it might have something to do with that too. Actually, it will probably have a lot to do with the negative EiL and consequences from events over 30 years ago… *grins* *heads off to work on details*

@aratrea Yep. The one piece of truth they have is the piece the MC is missing. It so much fun when the villain or main antagonist knows and (in some sort of manner) teaches the MC the truth they need to hear even while mortal enemies.

@daeus That makes sense. Thanks. 🙂 I figured it was something like that…

Can characters be antagonists on and off? Because I’ve a number of characters that are antagonists at some points and work with the MC at other points.
Silvara: An archeress. She’s been a legend for 500 years and thinks the whole name deal is a bit hilarious. Though when it comes to the respect people have for her just due to her name and not…[Read more]

Hmm, just realized Zevlin might actually be an antagonist off and on… More on than off. 😉

Just two… Foil characters are so much fun. These are for Fidelyon, again. The rest of my work will probably be for that novel. My trilogy isn’t developed enough for this yet… Anyway:
1. Seamus: the page boy of the MC. His EiL is that names don’t mean much, if anything. He’s an orphan, and couldn’t care less. It is what he…[Read more]

I love the foil characters that stand opposed to the main character’s EiL in almost every way and yet have one aspect of truth that the MC is missing. My mind is going blank on such characters in fiction (I don’t suppose I can count my own characters. *grins sheepishly* They’re the ones I’ve been thinking about a lot recently.) though I know there…[Read more]

So, excitement!
I just submitted my story to the Home Life contest and am currently waiting for a reply from the Bunyan contest people due to *ahem* technical difficulties (i.e. I put my email address in wrong D: )
So as soon as that can be fixed, the second story will entered as well 🙂
Thanks for everyone’s tips and support! Thanks you, Daeus…[Read more]

@i-j-anderson Those are amazing! Oops! I forgot about the tattoo (and I don’t even have the excuse that it’s covered up – her shoulder is bare 😉 ) I also see what you mean about the hair – everywhere, wild and curly!

@dragon-snapper I agree, I have seen lots of different styles and they’re all amazing! I love @aysia-serene‘s drawing! And i-j-anderson is so talented at realism. And @kate-flournoy has a very unique realistic-but-not-quite style 😀

@i-j-anderson Yay! I’m glad you liked it! I could have gone more crazy with the hair (I thought about it) but I was worried it’d ruin it, so she’s having a “tame-hair day” today 😛
@aysia-serene Aw, it can’t be that bad 😉 I’d love for you to try, if you really want to. May I ask what it is about Cris’ description that you think is super cool? 😀

@kate-flournoy Your Insanity Jane drawing was great! It was a fun, simplistic cartoony style! 😀
Here’s my version – I tried to do a more realistic style this time, and I think it turned out pretty good 🙂 I didn’t go over in pen and erase like I did before, so it’s a little more sketchy.

@i-j-anderson Hope you likey!

@daeus Thank you! 😀 I actually made some comments on your comments (and changed some stuff based on them) and I’d appreciate it, if you can, if you could have a quick look at those as well 🙂

Hey guys! Wanted to let you know about a cool Indy e-Conference that will be happening March 20-24! It’s free to attend and there will be all kinds of informational articles, question and answer sessions, some podcasts (I think), contests, voting on books… It’s going to be really fun. Some of you might know Kendra E. Ardnek – she is the one who…[Read more]

@perfectfifths Yes, I figured. But hey, everything about art doesn’t have to be realistic. Not that I’m saying it’s bad to learn to draw more realistically but don’t give up your ‘little people’ completely. They are adorable. 😀 And I love the wolf too! So does Tor; he loves his wolf.
