@aratrea Well, it only takes a three or four chapters before his home is destroyed and all that happens. He lives with hate and bitterness for a long time, especially since when he finally finds his sister, she is now the wife of the Saxon man that carried her off and has a child, and when he asks her to escape with him, she stays. It’s not until…[Read more]

@aratrea Well… it’s been a while since I’ve done these videos, so please excuse if I’m a little vague 😉 However, my friend and I have still been writing our story, and the character I’m focusing on in the homework has started her arc a little now 😀
Characteristic Moment Well, at the start of the characters’ journey, Amrei (I can’t even…[Read more]

@jess-penrose @aratrea Yes! That one is great! And it even reflected in the actual writing, I found. *Spoiler alert* 😉 Everything about him and in him seemed shrouded in darkness. Though he’s a good person and tries to do what’s right, he’s trapped in lies and darkness from his past. When he changes, everything feels so much clearer, his…[Read more]

@seekjustiace Oh yes, I heard about the Vegemite chocolate. My friend and her mum and brother tried it, and I think they said it was disgusting. It just sounds disgusting.

@f5a8c3e92 @shannon Yeah, people who don’t know it do take too much. It’s not like peanut butter where you can spread it all over and the worst you get is a sticky mouth. I once watched American people trying Australian foods, and when they got to the Vegemite, they were spreading too much, and one dude took a whole spoonful and ate it, and gagged.

@michael-stanton Not a problem at all on my side. I’m just glad @theliterarycrusader was kind enough to put up with my enthusiasm. I figured you must be busy! I hope the dust doesn’t give our Overlord asthma.

@theliterarycrusader and @bethanysinkyroses, thanks for pushing things through to completion in my absence. I really appreciate it.
I have accepted a new job and moved to a new city and the dust is just beginning to settle. I’ll get back in the swing of things soon. Just as soon as someone can point me to the nearest thing-swing…

@jane-maree Yeah, I know, I can’t be a true-blue Aussie if I don’t 😉 But I am a picky eater, and usually if something doesn’t get past the smell test, it can’t move on to the taste test, and Vegemite doesn’t pass 😉 XD

@f5a8c3e92 Oh yeah, I heard about that before too. Oh, and Weetbix! That’s a very Australian thing too 😉 Although I don’t eat them myself (or Vegemite)

@mariposa I bet it’s hard to find non mint toothpaste. I love mint, but I prefer Trader Joe’s Fennel toothpaste. If there’s one near you, you might like it! 😀

@that_writer_girl_99 Sounds like a fun project! Fun fact for me joins with my hobby: I’m a huge mycophile (read: mushroom nerd.) I hunt up gourmet ‘shrooms and sell them to chefs by the pound.
(Side note: if you ever have a villain in need of a creative weapon, and your genius hits upon toxic mushrooms, CONTACT ME FIRST. I would GLADLY help your…[Read more] -

@daeus I’ll have to watch the new one soon! I liked how in the English one, at least, you were so solemn, like you were actually teaching. You definitely have your own style of humor, and I think it will resonate with lots of writers. 🙂

@emily By all means. I want to hear your thoughts whether I tag you or not. We just have a tagging limit of 10 and I’m not on here enough to know everyone’s names… 😉
@jane-maree Yes, the to will work, if I have the ‘of nights’ instead of just ‘night’.

@daughteroftheking Same here. My first thought was ‘darkest’ but then I switched to ‘blackest’ because I thought it sounded better.
@catwing Breathing hope into the blackest of nights. I like that.
@jess Hmmm… I like breathing. Penning could maybe work too. Penning hope in the blackest of nights. Eh… not sure. Thoughts?

So, I’ve been working on a tagline for my site, Writing in the Light. Well, it’s a tagline for me, really. Something I can put everywhere – on my blog, on my social media. Basically, something that sums up me and my writing very well. I came up with a line earlier that I really like:
Breathing hope into the blackest night.
It sums up what I…[Read more]
