Ah yes, I want a landing page, which is part of the reason I switched to WordPress. I’m not sure if I can create one yet or not; I’ll have to experiment. Yes, @Daus, I’m thinking about changing the title of that section. That’s the nice thing; it’s very easy to switch out to an updated document if spelling errors or other things are caught.

The rose section break was a very tiny jpg picture (which I got from Kate). I made up a style so it would be formatted right and inserted it between sections.…[Read more]

What is a landing page?

@anna-brie I do, but I have it through google and for some reason they only let you renew your name for ten years. Anyhow, my year expires in May so I plan to just buy a new one.

Yes, but there are also a few places I could buy a domain name without signing up for a hosting site.

@Daeus, @ivy-rose; another question, I hope I’m not repeating myself to terribly. Do I just need to buy a domain name, or do I need a hosting site as well?

Most of the sites I’m seeing (including Site5) you pay by month. I’m currently looking at Bluehost, which is one hostsite which wordpress recommends. It’s around $3 each month, so it isn’t too bad. But I want to pay by year if I can. I’m just wondering if anyone knows of any reliable sites.

I’ve been looking up wordpress.org (I was on .com before) and apparently part of the difference is that I can make no sense of how to get started. How do I choose a host sight and what, in normal language, is a web server…how do I even start this? Help, please!

Also, I was looking at the top of this website…is one row of tabs pages and the other a menu? Or are they both menus? I assume if I make my menu the main navigation tab, only the things I put there will show up.
