@PerfectFifths @kate-flournoy @aysia-serene @emma-flournoy @jess @graciegirl @dragon-snapper I really don’t know what to say 😉 besides thanks. I’ve been drawing forever. I’m really a homebody, so since I was five and discovered a line I drew kind of looked like a face, I decided to stay inside and draw because I wasn’t allowed to go trample…[Read more]

@northerner I actually missed the subtitle until I finished the book. Seeing it as a nightmare does give the story an interesting spin, especially with the ending.
@kate-flournoy You definitely should!

@kate-flournoy This relates to what was mentioned in the theme course about how you want to set yourself up against the very best arguments against your message you can find. You want to place yourself and the position of least advantage in order to show that your position is true.

@Daeus, I have to disagree about the ending. It had to be a miracle. You see, people aren’t truly converted by force of arms, or, in most cases, by arguments. It has to be God who converts them. So by beginning the story with Michael’s miracle, and ending it with one for the four other characters (I’m trying not to spoil it), it actually…[Read more]

I have not read “The Ball and the Cross” (yet– I just started the audiobook last night), but I have read Chesterton’s “Man Who Was Thursday.” It was a fascinating and fantastic book, and I’d highly recommend it. The ending is just crazy, and I need to read it again. I have heard that it was inspired by the book of Job, and the…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy @northerner I restored the old thread. I’m going to delete this one so there won’t be any confusion.

@kate-flournoy If I wasn’t mistaken, I’d say that you tagged every KP person in existence. 😛

For some reason the thread on the Ball and the Cross seems to have vanished — shall we try again?

@kate-flournoy Gair IS NOT a minor character. Don’t you dare cut his role in any way.

@kate-flournoy Yeah, I’ve read it. I agree with you that it’s really good. I was a bit disappointed that the climax relied on a miracle though since that’s outside the realm of normal human experience, so it’s less powerful because of that, but overall I was very pleased. And, yeah, I’ll talk about it all you want. (I was especially pleased with…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy I like that development for Eldred not liking hope for that reason. Nice character development there. All those minor characters look good with their Experiments in Living.
Yeah, that’s a pretty insane word count there. =P I have no idea how I’d even begin to write a book that long!
