Ooh, yes, definitely. @kate-flournoy
Here’s a handful of the ideas I have so far:
–The prisoners believe that they are “privileged” with the ability to live in the prison. They also believe that their powers are a curse.
–The world outside of the prison is wartorn. Its been through a lot, seen a lot of destructive things–the elementals…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy I know that the plot definitely seems cliche now, and I’ve sensed that myself, so I’m trying to figure out a way to expand it so that it isn’t the same as the stories circulating through society nowadays. Not that that’s an easy thing to do… *sighs*

@kate-flournoy Oh dear! *hands you some duck tape to fix the split in your face* I surely did not mean for that to happen 😀 I’m glad it’s clicking in place too! (at long last!!!!) One of those things that make you think… hmmm… I wished I’d learned this years ago.

@Northerner *chains the bear up* ‘e won’t get out for some time yet. Now go forth and conquer.
(Btw, @Kate-Flournoy just almost lost that stuff, but we were able to fix it in time. After great stomachache. Otherwise…*coughcough* her computer might have suffered great damage from a certain being.) -

@daeus @winter-rose @kate-flournoy @jane-maree Could you guys tell me if you think it’s a good idea to make Halle part of Maya’s daydream? Please note that they will meet in person at the Academy in a few chapters. Here’s an update on the Prologue:

@daeus @winter-rose @kate-flournoy Tell me if you guys like the idea of Halle’s prologue being a dream-sequence of Maya’s. She’ll be meeting Maya herself at the Academy, so… I don’t know. Any other opinions are most welcome. Here is an updated version of the prologue:
Halle’s heart raced. They’re coming. They’re coming for me. Her ginger hair…[Read more] -

@winter-rose Yeah, the prologue… I’m still trying to incorporate properly into the story. I have just come up with a brilliant idea! What if that sequence with Halle was part of Maya’s daydreaming and she is a character in her story? (However, Halle will be coming in later, as she turns out to be one of Maya’s classmates at the new school she’s…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy I had a writing break through thanks to your lovely advice!!! (which you probably don’t remember giving 😉 ) Lemme explain. A while ago I posted a scene from the beginning of my book and your critique was that the story didn’t flow quite right when I wrote like this… he said something, then did something, then did something then…[Read more]

@PrincessFoo, that was one of the first things I thought to check. . . no luck. It had everything up until the place I stopped at the night before, but nothing from that day. Which did mean I only lost 3,000 words instead of 15,000, but still.
@Emma-Flournoy, I have so far managed to evade the bear. He may be catching up, though, as I discovered I…[Read more] -

Alrighty, so a couple pages back on this thread @kate-flournoy drew a picture of my character Cress. Now, I have finally gotten around to drawing her myself. It’s quite amazing how Kate’s picture actually lined up quite well. 😀 Cress was quite fun to draw and I’m hoping to draw a picture of another character named Slade pretty soon. 😉

Congratulations. 😀 *returns flourishing bow* In my experience, truly strong prose is usually one of the last things to come… glad it’s clicking in place for you! 😀
