Ingrid replied to the topic Character/Story Theme Songs in the forum Music 8 years, 4 months ago
@emily I usually find them by chance, whenever I’m listening to the radio or something.
@kate-flournoy I listened to that song and it sounds like you have a very interesting MC. 😉 -

Sooooo…I wondered if you had any songs that make you think of someone/a certain scene in your stories. Possibly even your entire story. Just some music that makes you go, “this is the story of my character’s life!” or “this is my villain’s theme.” Anyways, thought this might be fun. 🙂

My thoughts exactly @kate-flournoy. That, to me, makes it one of the most interesting aspects of world-building.

*grins* *offers her advice even though she wasn’t tagged* @kate-flournoy and I have actually discussed this a lot recently, because my new WIP has a huge world–actually, two worlds, each with very different takes on the four pillars she mentioned.
1. History
2. Religion
3. Geography
4. EconomyIf I could squeeze in a fifth one, though, I’d add…[Read more]

@salome01w4g, Howdy! I am from the United States. Can you guess what state I’m from? (You might be able to tell XD)
@kate-flournoy, my poem is called “Majesty Complete.” I don’t think I write in a specific genre. I write mostly diary passages with a touch of poetry and short stories, and the occasional essay or list. I am working on a Doctor Who…[Read more] -

Another one by Snapper? What?
Well, I couldn’t resist. You all are a bad influence on someone who should be writing instead of spending an hour on these things.
This one is for the last book of the trilogy, the problem child, but I finally found a plot for it!!!!
So here it is.

Elizabeth replied to the topic Writers' Corner #9 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 4 months ago
*snorts* There are, in fact, nine writer’s corners, but only because the other ones grew to be so long that we had to stop using them. Actually…we should be coming up on the end of this one shortly.
Anyway, the purpose of the Writer’s Corner is simple–it’s a kind of accountability thing, where one of us will start writing, tag others to let…[Read more]

Solid story idea. I think this could be really cool. Like @daeus and @kate-flournoy said, though, I think articulating exactly how the magic thing works could be tricky. But from what I’ve seen, it looks like you’re well on your way to solving it.
Everything that needs to be said has pretty much already been said here,…[Read more]

Hey guys! I just recently had an idea for a fantasy book. So, I have been reading up on fantasy clichés and other things about how to write a fresh and new story for an otherwise overused story.
I haven’t started writing yet, as I don’t want to rush in and make so many story mistakes that I have to start over later. So I’m using this time to…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy yes, it’s from Pinterest. I’m not actually going to use that, I was just trying out the website and figuring out all the buttons. And yes, going to change the font.

WOW! Thanks, @kate-flournoy! I do have some questions…
I wanted to possibly go for something such as a hand with fire coming out of it, with maybe my “Emblem of the Chosen” somewhere. Either that or something combining a leaf and fire. (Since, you know, Leaf-boy and Ember-girl) Is that complatible with your guidelines?
