@kate-flournoy Yeah, that does sound pretty good. I’m having a bit of trouble because my two main characters are brits and my other characters are 14th century people, so all the dialects are foreign to me. I think I’m going to go brush up on my middle English a bit before I keep going.

I’m reminded of a saying right about now that I think is very applicable. I think it was penned by Longfellow. If I remember correctly, it says, “The pen is mightier than the tomato.”

I have been writing for three years, but have only just started to develop style and any sort of skill in the past year. My favorite genre is medieval fiction and/or fantasy (hints the dragon), and just fiction in general. My favorite authors are Tolkien, John Flanagan, C.S. @kate-flournoy I’ve read Lord of the Flies awhile ago, as well as Fahrenheit 451 (I need to read that one again) and The Christmas Carol…several times.

As anyone read any fantasy books by Brandon Sanderson. I’m currently reading Elantris. It’s fascinating so far.

I just finished LOTF two days ago. I love that book. There were sometimes I got a bit confused, but the book was really convincing and the conversation between Simon and TLOTF was to die for.

Ok, @kate-flournoy. It’s good to know you died in peace. I was a bit worried there.
