@dragongeek welcome to the besistest place on the internet! Lemme guess— you write fantasy? And you like dragons? *grins*
What’s your favorite book? If you could go anywhere in the whole world just for fun, where would it be?

Too many feelings. Can’t handle it. Can’t handle it.

Okay. Maybe I can. But just barely. 😉 No I actually just wanted an excuse to use that gif. *nods*
*hugs you despite obligatory INTJ protests* I’m so glad you found us too.

*huge sigh of relief* I don’t see anywhere in here that says you’re leaving. When I first started reading your post, it sounded like you were leaving. I’m glad you’re not. 😀
Keep watching out for dragons. 😉

*crawls out of a hidden drain, dripping wet and covered in seaweed* SO… hey. It’s me. I actually don’t have a revolutionary writing concept to share today. Or advice to ask for. I’m starting this topic for a much more mundane reason.
I promised several of you (and I’ve forgotten exactly who *cringes*) to let you know when I had my blog up and…[Read more]

*EDIT: the ‘editing stage’ of the WIP I mentioned is more of a complete rewrite so it will be involving writing, not just editing.

@Aratrea *raises hand* I would most definitely be interested in doing this. I’m at the editing stage of my WIP (ignoring my NaNo novel which I am finishing this week because I’m insane). Can I still volunteer??

@dragon-snapper A plague makes sense to me.
Monsters or demons take over the city.
The water gets poisoned.
An unexplained phenomenon creeps out the city so bad they all leave. I.e. 1% of the population mysteriously disappears every Saturday at exactly 12:43 A.M.

@sarah-anson So why won’t your characters leave? Do they not care? Do they not think they’re the ones for the mission? Something else?

@silverclaw-bonnetfolly Thanks for your input! I think it sorta does have to do with the government, but I’m not sure how yet.
@shannon (You’re back!) Well, it’s a pretty big ghost town, but that’s definitely what it is…minus the tumbleweeds and self-playing pianos. And yes, I’m going to make the soil useless too. *nods* I think…

@princessfoo Yes! Go Star Trek! 😛 so, my first idea was actually a nuclear wasteland, then I realized that because my characters have to go through the city, it wouldn’t make sense. They’d melt. :O The Genre is sci-fi, set in the future of earth, 22nd century.
@emily Actually, the giant sinkhole is really helpful. I’m going to use that somewhere. 😀

So, I have an idea for a story, but I need a reason for this one aspect.
Why would a city be abandoned after a war. Like a huge city, with a population of a couple million. Why would it be abandoned, and why would it stay abandoned for 15+ years. Ideas? Brainstorm? Throw it at me.
