Yes, that could work. You’ll just have to engineer a way for her to get separated. (Or I can help contrive something to let that happen if you want.)

📚 Appreciator of BooksI mean, it depends on what you want to do. Basically what’s going to happen is we’re going to cut to a different scene where the villain will have summoned his own group of characters. That’s when we’ll add our villains. But if you don’t care about your character showing up for that scene, I don’t care if you add them now.

📚 Appreciator of BooksYep, you can add another. (The current limit is actually 4 at this point btw.)
I was planning on having us add villains shortly after we finish the current “scene.”

📚 Appreciator of BooksRina — Elderstrand, Deepwater, on the ship
Rina panted for breath, dripping water. She was completely soaked after that dive. She glanced up towards the sky, which was now dropping water on them. Maybe it didn’t really matter anyway.
The ship was floating down the river, picking up speed. The soldiers were still chasing after them, but the Ironwalkers had disappeared.
Rina didn’t like the sensation of standing on something that was floating in the water. It didn’t feel particularly stable.
Nearby Fleet was in conversation with one of his men.
“We’ve had no word from Echo or Black’s parties, sir. They should have been here by now.”
“Blast,” said Fleet. “You think the walkers got them?”
“Quite possibly, sir. The captain’s gone out on his own to see what he can find. He ordered us not to wait for him.”
Fleet strode back and forth, agitated.
Just then, Rina caught sight of something further downstream on the left bank.
“Are those…people?”
Fleet hurried to the rail. “And Ironwalkers,” he added. “We’ve got to get them out of there.”
“Right,” said Rina. “See you in a minute.”
“Wait, what–”
She opened a portal and dropped through.
@highscribeofaetherium @beth-torresIlahna — Elderstrand, Deepwater, on shore
Ilahna pushed her strings forward, forming a translucent barrier or shimmering light. The armored creatures shoved against it. Her song faltered slightly under their pressure, but she pushed back, holding them at bay. She glanced backwards, willing her companions to do something to get them out of there, but she couldn’t spare any of her Voices to speak.
Suddenly, with a quick flash of blue light, someone landed on the shore nearby. “Alright, people,” the girl said. “Let’s get out of here!” Ilahna glanced back to see a hole in the air outlined in blue light. Beyond it was the deck of the ship. As she was trying to wrap her head around how that could work, one of the creatures rammed its shoulder against her barricade, and the song broke.

Ellis — Elderstrand (Group 1)
Ellis suddenly found himself whisked off the ground and deposited onto a nearby roof, along with the rest of the group…except Marcel.
“No way!” Ellis snapped. “We can’t leave anyone behind!”
Just then there was a thud and the rooftop shook. Ellis carefully moved to the edge and glanced down. One of the creatures was digging its fingers into the wall and pulling itself slowly up towards them.
“You have to go.”
Ellis whipped around to find someone else standing on the roof. He wore a brown cloak with a hood and had a sword strapped to his side. “Head to the river,” the man continued, pointing into the distance. “The others are aboard a ship, preparing to leave the city. You’ll find them there.”
“Others?” Ellis repeated. “What others?”
“Listen,” the man said urgently. “We don’t have time. Head for the river. I will stay to hold these Ironwalkers off. I will make sure you all get out of here.”

📚 Appreciator of BooksYour characters and Rina are still on the ship. Sorry that it’s been a while since anything’s happened there. Like I said earlier, I’ve been waiting for someone else in the other group to go so that we can move towards combining those two, but if no one goes soon, I’ll just go myself.

📚 Appreciator of BooksCan we maybe just all subscribe to the topic so we don’t have to tag so many people every time?
We could. Directly tagging someone does help them know if they’re involved in what is happening, versus it being something happening somewhere else, but I don’t care.

📚 Appreciator of BooksBy my count, there are at least two Ironwalkers dead: one killed by Marcel and one killed by Flare. A third is probably dead, killed by Ben, but could conceivably still be alive (though seriously injured.)
An additional three have been injured. One had a staff rammed into its neck but is (I think?) still alive. The second one was stabbed twice by Ellis, once in the neck area, and again in the back of the leg, but is still mostly alright. The third got stabbed in the back by Leon but is also still alive.
That leaves six fully uninjured Ironwalkers. A total of nine (or possibly ten) are still alive, compared to (from my last count) a total of nine characters.
Not great odds.
I do have a plan for them to get out, but I’ll let this go on a bit longer.

📚 Appreciator of BooksHow tall are they?
Probably like…6’6″ without armor on average. The armor would add a few inches, so the tallest are probably about 7′ in armor.
First, how fast are they (the ironwalkers)? You said they weren’t really mobile… so is charging kinda out of the picture? And second, is it okay if Marcellus has his pistol?
They could charge. They wouldn’t be able to stop too effectively due to their momentum, but as seen by how effectively they’ve managed to chase people, they can move quickly. They’re just not very nimble.
A pistol is fine. Compared to most of the weapons our characters have, it will definitely be the most effective against these things, but I wouldn’t think it would be an instant kill. While a modern pistol could pretty easily penetrate medieval armor, this is what I call “implausibly resistant” armor (some might call it plot armor. I prefer the former term), so it might be more bullet resistant than is realistic, though some shots will probably go through. (Due to their strength, they can use thicker armor than would be practical for a human, so that is one plausible factor to their implausible resistance.) Additionally, the creatures inside the armor are fairly damage resistant as well. I imagine them to not have very many critical organ systems, so hitting them in some places won’t do much. (As a gore reduction measure, they also don’t bleed.)
So, yeah, pistol is fine.

Ellis — Elderstrand (Group 1)
Ellis slashed at one of the armored warriors, scoring the armor with a dark scorch mark, resisting more than it should have. His enemy swung a heavy fist at his head, and he ducked past it. A second opponent’s fist came out of nowhere, slamming into his chest and knocking him backwards. He rolled backwards into a crouching position, gasping for breath, but the energy coursing through him from Soulmight kept him on his feet.
Marcel, clinging to the back of another faceless knight somehow caused its armor to burst free. The creature inside fell limply to the ground. Its slick brown-gray skin that seemed stretched taut across its skinny form. Even under the helmet, it’s face was featureless.
A dragonish creature Ellis hadn’t seen before had somehow crushed another of the creatures inside its armor, but then fallen to the ground himself. Felicity and Sara had knocked a third off its feet.
But at least as many of Ellis’s allies were incapacitated or weakened, and the remaining creatures still outnumbered them.
Ellis’s first opponent approached him again, gripping its sword in two hands. As it swung, Ellis leapt into the air, clearing the swinging blade and thrust Soulmight through a gap in the armor near the neck. The creature stumbled but stayed on its feet. Ellis’s sword was wrenched out of his hand as he fell past, and he hit the ground hard, though he managed to land into a roll. The creature turned, preparing another strike.
Ellis reached out and reached out mentally to his sword. Soulmight lurched free of the monster’s body and flew to Ellis’s hand. The creature stumbled, thrown off balance, and missed its attack. Ellis lunged forward and rammed his sword into the back of its knee. The creature let out a rattling scream, muffled by its helmet and–most likely–its lack of a mouth.
Its hand lashed out and knocked Ellis backwards, slamming him against a wall.

Notes:
- I didn’t want to take too much in scene description, so here’s a more detailed description of the Ironwalkers without their armor. Their skin color is a dark tan color (or gray-brown) depending on how you might think of it. They’re pretty skinny and bony. (I guess I basically said exactly the same thing as I said in the RP, but whatever.) This may not be a useful comparison, but if anyone has seen the show Stranger Things, think of a demogorgon but with a completely blank face. (That was probably a sub-conscious influence when I was imagining these things.) Doesn’t matter much, because we probably won’t be seeing a ton of them without armor. And yes, they’re kinda creepy, but it’s not as horrific as Whaley’s idea of their being fused to the armor, lol.
- I decided that Ironwalkers can make noise, but don’t do so often. The complete silence is unnerving, but it seemed like they should have some reaction to getting seriously injured. They still don’t have mouths, but I guess they must have vocal cords anyway.
(Alright, I just need to stop editing, I’ve been working on this forever.)

📚 Appreciator of BooksWell, I think the only one that’s dead is the one Flare crushed. Unless what Marcel did was supposed to have killed it in the process of de-armoring it (either way, without armor, it won’t last long.) The third one, if I’m understanding what happened, should still be alive, unless the staff actually pierced into its body. Based on hybridlore’s RP, at least, it sounds like it’s still alive.

📚 Appreciator of BooksI think I’ll add another character after the fight is over, if that’s alright. Or guess technically two characters. One and a half? I should go back and check how many character slots we’re allowed.
There are currently 16 characters total, which means that the limit per person is currently 4.

📚 Appreciator of BooksThere are actually biological creatures inside the armor. Marcel’s exclamation that they are made of iron was erroneous as he later discovered, though I see how when he later said that they “aren’t solid” it could have been misinterpreted as saying they are hollow. What he really meant (I assume) is that they aren’t solid metal (i.e. there is something non-metal inside.) Whatever the case, I did intend for them to be actual creatures wearing armor rather than empty suits of it.
