I don’t know all the fancy logic terms. But what I’m saying is pretty simple. All valid logical statements are true if their premises are true. How do you know they are true? You can either observe them to be true, or you can reason them out from other things you know.

Prove to me logically that birds can fly. You can’t. But you can observe birds flying. You can logically derive premises from other premises, but at some point you have to have premises that are self evident.

You can’t prove premises with logic, so this can’t be resolved with logic.

Oh wait, you did make a completely valid argument, but your premises were false.

The fault in your logic is that the category “ all fluffy things” includes rabbits and caterpillars, but it does not equal either.

Fast time bubbles would be useful for Gunslinger. He could shoot one at himself, then pull out his regular guns and shoot a bunch of people. (His billets would probably get stretched on the way out, but they would still work.)

@rae is crafting logical statements that are completely logical, but completely wrong.

Once again, valid logic, but your completely false premises lead to a completely false conclusion.

The mechanics of Gunslinger’s time bubbles.

I am familiar with time bubbles from other things. Time powers in general are cool.
An argument can be valid without being true.

I find your second premise faulty.

I’ve never taken a logic class, so I don’t know how to lay it out right, but there’s my thought process.

If the two parts of an object are moving at different speeds, they’re going to rip apart or squish together. Imagine you run into this bubble. As soon as part of you enters, it slows down, only to be rammed by the next part. You would basically be flattened. If you are inside and try to run out, as soon as part of you leaves, it speeds up a…[Read more]

Okay, so that would mean if you try to go in, you would get squished to death, and if you tried to leave, you would get ripped apart.

This is pretty technical, but what happens to an object part way inside? Say you jab a stick in and move it to the side. The part inside moves slower, so does it get ripped off? Or if something is touching it, does all of it get slowed, even if part of it is outside?

Okay, so the characters have to make sure they don’t get caught in the bubble. Well, if the bubble is going to be there for several hours, they can’t get past it can they?

I think that if you were in side, time would be normal speed for you, and everything outside would just go really fast, so you would die just as quickly.

I think @whalekeeper was thinking that all the characters were in the bubble as well.

How big is the bubble? Because as soon as the explosion reaches the edge, it will return to normal speed.

The bomb is in the bubble, so everyone outside as extra time to react.
