      Sure, girl! I’d LOVE to help you out if I’m able! (Conversational scenes are some of my favorite so I’m very excited!!!!) Anyway, the email you know of mine works great for me (I’d rather not put it here where everyone can see it, but if you don’t remember it, then I can share my author email instead.)

          So I might not be getting the problem *exactly* correct, but if you’re having a hard time with the pacing of your story, I’m gonna recommend to try plotting it out. Plotting doesn’t have to be all that complicated at all! Basically, there are certain major points that need to happen in every story besides just beginning, middle, and end. You have your inciting incident that happens about 10-15% into the novel, your midpoint twist that happens in the middle, climax near the end, etc. I don’t know if this will help, but when I realized I was having pacing problems with a story, one thing I did was plot out the major key points of the story. I LOVE Jill Williamson’s scene plotting worksheet she has. It’s an easy-to-follow guide that you might find helpful. I hope this helps. Best of luck with all your writing. You’ve got this!!!

                @annabethkatherinewingfeather

                Ah historical fiction is one of my absolute FAVORITE genres, so I’m more than happy to provide a few recs. 🙂

                Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill. It’s a book set in the USA in World War II about the Japanese internment camps. It’s a really emotional and touching/moving story and I can’t recommend it enough!!!

                The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill. This is a 1920s mystery novel, and the historical backdrop is so much fun to read about!

                The Ice Swan by J’nell Ciesielski. I wasn’t totally in love with this book when I read it, but the best part about it is its historical setting. It’s about World War I and some of the aftereffects of the Russian Revolution in 1917.

                Echo Mountain (set in Maine during the Great Depression) and Beyond the Bright Sea by Lauren Wolk.

                A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen. This one is about the rise of the Berlin Wall in Germany.

                Aim by Joyce Moyer Hostetter. It’s another one set during World War II in 1941.

                Well, I hope this helps somewhat, and good luck with your writing!!!

                      @maryg3 Hey, Mary!! From what I’ve gathered about the bit you shared, it seems your book’s overarching main focal theme is about finding your place in life. (Did I get it right? 😂) So for my personal opinion, I think it’s really great to have more than one message in a story!!! I mean, we as people are so complex and learn so many different lessons in life, we have more than just one singular Lie or Goal, so I think our characters should be just as developed. I do advise for storytelling’s sake to have like one main focus, and then you can branch into multiple mini-themes. Like for instance, the main theme of my current WIP is about finding strength inside rather than physical strength and love is the strongest force of all. But there are smaller themes like the power of family and perseverance and forgiveness and humility. We don’t spend as much page time on them but they’re definitely there in the background. I hope this helps, and your WIP sounds SO cool!!!! And I’m super sorry to hear you’ve been feeling unmotivated to write. Keep going, girl!! YOU’VE GOT THIS!!! *sends encouraging chocolate*

                        @power Whoa, that poem was AMAZING and really touching!! I loved it! THANK YOU for sharing it with us!! It reminded me of the lyrics from TobyMac’s song Scars. “It doesn’t matter who you are, this world goin’ leave some battle scars.”

                          This might not be the best advice by a long shot, but you seem like you’re REALLY in love with the idea of bringing them back. Like I can just feel how much you love this idea and your excitement to write it. And I guess for me, that’s the best reason to follow through with the idea! It’s your story at the end of the day, and if this is what you really want, you’d be surprised how many other readers really want it too!!!! Hope this helps, and girl, I AM DYING TO READ THIS BOOK!!!! Like I HAVE to know who’s gonna die!!!

                              @trahia-the-minstrel

                              Heya, girl!!! Okay, so I first wanna say I TOTALLY get where you’re coming from!!! When I first started my blog (teenwritersnook.com) I had literally NO ONE read any of my posts for like three-plus months but now (after a year and a half of blogging) my site gets a pretty steady following with 400 visitors a month and anywhere between 1,000-3,000 clicks monthly. I’m not saying that to brag (cuz the Good Lord knows I couldn’t have done that on my own) but more of a way to encourage you that even if you’re not getting a ton of visitors right now, it IS possible!!! So I’m gonna offer the best advice that I have and I hope it helps!!!!

                              How do I get guest posts on my blog? My best advice is that if you want a blogger to guest post, just ask him/her!!! I know a TON of bloggers LOVE guest posting but usually like to be approached first instead of asking to guest post.

                              How do I guest blog on others? Some blogs do have opportunities where you can request to guest post, but from what I’ve seen, usually, you just have to build connections, and maybe if you know of some bloggers you can see if they’d let you guest post!!! You could see if a blogger is interested in a swamp guest post. You post on his/her blog and that blogger posts on yours. (If you’re looking for guest posting opportunities, I’ve been wanting to have some bloggers on my personal author blog, and I’d LOVE to have you if you’re interested!!!!)

                              How do I get to know other bloggers? Okay, so just about every single blogging advice article or tip I’ve ever read/heard will say the complete opposite of what I’m about to tell you. But I’m basing this on personal experience and what’s worked for me!!! If you want to get to know other bloggers, go find them and just simply be active on their site. Read their posts, follow them, comment, etc. The blogging world is such an awesome and friendly one!! Usually, if you support a blog, the bloggers almost always want to do the same!!!! It’s hard to find blogs because there are SO many of them, so my advice is to find them first!!!

                              How does the whole blogger tag thing work? Okay, so basically someone starts up a tag, tags bloggers who then do the tag, and then they either leave open tags (where anyone who wants to do it can… or you can steal a tag #guilty) or tag other bloggers!!! Again, to get tagged, you just have to build connections and relationships with other bloggers first. But if you wanna do a tag, you’re TOTALLY allowed to just “steal” it. I’ve done it before. XD

                              How do I reach my audience to grow more subscribers? If you’re looking for a specific audience, again, my best advice is to find them. You want Christian American teen readers? Find blogs that have that audience, get to know those bloggers, and though it takes time, eventually, you’ll get people who’ll start coming over!!!

                              What would you guys like to see on my blog? What posts do you like best? Like least? Probably not the best to answer that since I’ve enjoyed reading all of your posts!!!! (Been meaning to go over there and comment but haven’t had the chance yet. #CollegeLife XD)

                              What’s the best way to encourage people to comment on your blogs? Commenting is something that’s hard to get bloggers to do. My best advice is to begin by commenting on other people’s blogs and when someone leaves a comment, let them know you appreciate it! I know of one blog in particular that I always HAVE to leave a comment on because the blogger is so sweet and always lets me know how much the comment means to her.

                              Okay, I hope that was helpful and I answered all your questions well. If you have any more questions, just let me know!!! I LOVE to help other bloggers out. <33333
