A waterfall that wants to settle down and become a quiet lake.
Love it @hope.
A dragon who needs glasses.
A spy who likes playing with paper clips.
A baby who can speak from the moment he/she is born. (Not my idea. I read a story like that once and it was brilliant)
A world where everything is perfect. *Sigh* That would be nice. -

@hope Do I need to become a member to post comments on your blog? It looks great, BTW. And is it only Americans allowed to do the Captions Challenges or are overseas people welcome too? (That is what I’m most interested in.) 🙂 Keep up the great work!

Oh perfect, @bluejay, perfect! 😛
@Daeus— great. 🙂 😉 🙂 😉 🙂 😉 🙂 😉 😛 😉
And thank you, @writefury, @hope, and @bluejay. All of those are very good suggestions. And I do that too, @hope— the contradictions thing. 🙂 I didn’t use to do it as much, but now I do, and it’s crazy fun. -

@hope I used the plugin WCP contact form. I liked it because it came with a captcha and didn’t cost anything.
I have not made a landing page yet because I don’t have my free offer written yet, but I will be working on that shortly.

That’s sweet @hope. btw Draft2Digital will do the formatting for you for your ebook if you want them to. Since I’m planning to use vellum, that doesn’t make much of a difference to me, but it is a neat feature and doesn’t cost anything.

@hope If you can switch over when it makes more sense, that sounds fine. Before you do that though, hop over to the WordPress.org forum and ask these three questions:
Can I switch everything over to WordPress.org when I want to without losing anything?
Will I be able to put an email sign up form on my wordpress.com website?
Can I create a…[Read more]

Don’t you already have a domain name @hope?
-
Ivy Rose replied to the topic WordPress in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
@hope yes you can buy a domain name before setting up your web hosting site. Or buy a domain separately from the site that will be hosting your website. Generally, the hosting sites have ‘package deals’ when you buy a domain and so many years of service.
WordPress is amazingly versatile, and yes, there is a lot of information available on the web…[Read more]

@hope I use Hostgator. They were a little more expensive than some others (by a dollar or two a year) but I paid for 3 years upfront, as well as paying for my domain name, and it was around $60.
A fair word of warning…setting up a WordPress.org site is a ton of work. The only reason I did it is that my folks wanted me to take a class and learn…[Read more]

@hope
Unfortunately, I really don’t know much about hosting sites. I thought Site5 was by the year, but maybe it is not. I’m pretty confident I’m only paying $12 a year though, so I assume it is only $1 a month. -

@hope
The difference as I understand it is that WordPress.com has a lot of limitations to what you can do with it, whereas the options with WordPress.org are much larger. I believe @dbhgodreigns mentioned he wasn’t able to connect an email program (like mail chimp) to his wordpress.com site.To get started with WordPress.org, you do need a web…[Read more]

@Hope, are you asking about WordPress.com or WordPress.org? There is a difference…and it can be big or little depending.

Daeus replied to the topic WordPress in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
@hope To create a category, go to a post. On the right, there should be a little box called categories. Click “add new category”. There are other places you can do it, but this will work.
This site (KP) has two menus/navigation bars. I’m not sure exactly how they did that. It might be a feature of the theme or it might be a plugin. The menus have…[Read more]

Those are some great ones @hope. Those could seriously be stories. I’ve always wondered myself why people thought that if they found aliens the aliens would be super intelligent.

A dashing young henchman. There aren’t nearly enough of those.
A gentle-giant Fezzik sort of guy who saves the tough-girl action princess.
An unruly queen constantly being reined in by her dignified daughter.
A plain old dumb dog in the place of all the fancy, super-smart dog types that are always the pets.Love this topic! Great idea, @hope! 🙂
