Hannah A. Krynicki replied to the topic What does my villain want? in the forum Fantasy 8 years, 9 months ago
Wow, that’s quite the plot. There are so many possibilities for what power the twins could have, like telepathy, mind control, ice or fire powers, superstrength, turning inanimate objects into living tools/weapons… what kind of thing are you looking for?
Maybe you could connect the powers to the family’s association with birds in some way and…[Read more]

@hope I’ve had exactly the same problem. For my first book, I started out with seven sub-rulers in one of the fantasy kingdoms, but then I changed it to eight and gave them all new names. Believe me, the editing process got so messy after that; I once counted and found that there was an extra, ninth ruler running around and messing up my plot.…[Read more]

When your little siblings write fanfics of your books
My brother almost did that! In that vein, you know you’re a writer when you’re afraid of people shipping your characters. 😀

Hannah A. Krynicki replied to the topic Help with Characterization! in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 10 months ago
Love characterization! @writefury pretty much nailed it, especially with the bit about MBTI (it sounds as if we might have a lot in common there). 🙂
I also find it useful to sit down and write an array of short scenes in which the characters get to display their quirks, beliefs, and overall traits. Have them do silly things, like playing “Rock,…[Read more]

Recently I published my first high fantasy novel, Son of Ren, and have been announcing it on my blogs, but I knew all you readers and writers would enjoy it. You can find it on amazon. If you do like it, a quick review would be appreciated. 🙂

No matter how many brothers or sisters, they’re always lots of fun! Besides, they make it easier to write characters who are very different from you, don’t they? 🙂

Hello, everyone! Boy, I really need to check the forums more often. 🙂
@daeus Pretty close. It’s Polish, so we say it “kruh-nickee”. And I think extra y’s are permissible in the bestistest forums, right?
@belegteleri It’s just like having two brothers, but more than double the mess and the fun. Lots of sword fights and army guys.

I have already posted on the forums a little, but it seems appropriate to tell everyone exactly who I am. My name is Hannah and I belong to the clan of Krynicki. Three interesting things about myself:
1. I like writing fantasy, arguing about history, studying psychology, and reading Tolkien
2. I have four younger sisters and five younger brothers…[Read more] -
Hannah A. Krynicki replied to the topic Character Names in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 10 months ago
I love character names. In fact I will get carried away when it comes to choosing just the right name… @hope Sean Lindstrom sounds awesome, and @belegteleri Chance Tudors is intriguing. And of course Mr. Burton has come to be quite famous. 🙂
