“I’m no child,” Leon retorted. “I’ve train with this sword here since I was five.” Leon backed up a bit. “And as it is I would challenge you to a duel, but my strength is not with me.”

I actually, really like both the queen and her son. I think the son can help where the queen might feel a little offended by her “guests” or vice-versa.
