Don’t all stories run the risk of wrong interpretation?

This is very interesting stuff.
Platform building is something I’ve wanted to research more fully. Advertising is something I’m also playing around with. The problem, as far as I see it, is that advertisers and people advertising try to mimic previous marketing techniques, and it doesn’t work the second time. Your marketing campaign really has…[Read more]

Sorry I haven’t been more actively involved. I got a facebook message from Kerry Nietz, the Amish Vampires in Space guy. He said that Kate was asking how he got published, and he asked if I would share this article.

Why are there moral boundaries to what Christians can write about and include in stories? Do we have Biblical backup as to what’s permissible, or are we just speculating?

Hey guys, fun topic. In the podcast I posted today, I interviewed Kerry Nietz, author of the book “Amish Vampires in Space” (yeah, get a load of that title). Earlier today, I got this comment on the page.
“I have an honest question. Please don’t be offended. Should Christians really be using dark, evil things like vampires and zombies as t…[Read more]

I do suppose that’s weird. But I’m a weird person.
Not as weird as these tacanibals up there talking about their tomato plants, of course, but plenty weird.

You’re absolutely right, monotonous is just the word. And now is a great time to think outside the box. Other readers are tired of the same stuff over and over. It just takes a lot to really find a plotline that’s different and still rings true. I hate saying the old “write what you know” thing, but personal experience is a great place to draw…[Read more]

But the story of the fat guy on the battlefield hasn’t been told yet.
The story of the lass ’round the corner of the inn in the shadow of the castle with the rotting teeth hasn’t been seen.
I tell you what, I’ve seen the handsome knight and beautiful prince kiss enough to where THAT holds no intrinsic value to me. I’d like to see something new.

If I’m gonna have a minor character I want to stand out, the big thing is to just give him a quirk or something that makes him not-cliche. I generally don’t develop deep, because there’s only so much time, but if you treat him/her with just enough of an interesting starting point, the character often evolves by his/herself to become someone less…[Read more]

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is hysterical. Well, the audio drama is. That audio drama is a must-listen; so good.
A Star Curiously Singing is one I picked up recently and really enjoyed. Free on amazon. I love free stuff.
