Hey!
So I haven’t read the thing, because I’m a bit of a ‘link-a-phobe’ (not you, just the internet), but my main thoughts are dark themes and darkness in literature in general is that if you’re not comfortable showing it to someone close to you, like your mom or dad or brother or sister or best friend, then it may have gone to…[Read more] -

@dekreel *cracks knuckles* Fun thread idea. Let’s see… *searches memory* Well, I dearly loved My Father’s Dragon. My fascination with dragons started at a young age, you see. I also really liked the first Boxcar Children book, The Family Under the Bridge (A children’s book about the Great Depression. Now, there’s a thought.), The Cricket in…[Read more]

Yes! Have two villains! Have three! Have four!
Ok, maybe don’t take it that far…
But, more than one villain is often a good idea. It keeps your protagonist on his toes. And, you know those crazy authors, they just want to make everything so hard for the hero. Not nice writerses.

Thanks for the input guys! 😀
@kate-flournoy @daeus I tagged Kate because I knew she wrote fantasy…I just didn’t stop to consider how long the fantasy was. 😉 My mistake. Haha.

Heya Kapeefers. This week seems to be the Snapper Invents Topics week.
Another question:
Can you have two villains? It kinda makes the plotline a little weird I know, but can you have, say, for the first half of a book there be one villain and the other half another villain? Or does that really just mess things up?

@dragon-snapper I am also the wrong person to ask about this, (never mind that you didn’t ask me specifically. You get my advice anyway. Isn’t that great? 😉 ) because my goal flips between 80,000 and 40,000 depending on the day.
It’s 40,000 right now. Take note, there will be a quiz on this later. xD
I would say don’t worry about it too much…[Read more]

So….I’ve heard a lot about fantasy novels being long, but Iv’e never written anything longer than 85,000 thousand words. Anything that was going to be longer than that I never finished. So I’ve been wondering…how long is the max for fantasy novels?
@daeus @aratrea @kate-flournoy @shannon @any and all fantasy people…

@alia It’s tragic! Like those fancy cone-shaped hat thingies from the middle ages? Pity no one wears those anymore.
Names! Woe! The perfect ones always escape me…
I must be off. Farewell! *waves handkerchief sadly*
Bye @jane-maree !
