I like him as a character. I think what you’ve done with him is interesting. As a person though… I find him really cold and stiff in SFI. I don’t know what Chessy sees in him. The contrived resolution I am speaking of is the resolution to the Caderousse-Chessy conflict which is resolved with Caderousse, much like Javert, letting Chessy go and committing suicide later.
