@emma-flournoy *feels awkward-but-flattered about your enthusiastic welcome* *smiles shyly* I’m an INFJ, and about 85% introvert, according to 16Personalities. (I live in a house of extroverts, so this makes me really confusing to my family sometimes. Lol!) All of my tendencies are pretty strong, though. What about you?

@dragon-snapper I have not written any stories with a North American bird as a main character, but I do have a couple of stories with an avian supporting character. 🙂 I have at least one story idea stashed away that deals with the wild turkeys we have around our house and an escaped peacock.
(@theliterarycrusader, did I tell you about the…[Read more]

*has new-girl moment and shyly listens in before deciding to join the conversation* Hi! I have mixed feelings about outlines, but here’s what I do:
1. I only write short stories at the moment, so my outlines can only be *so* extended. That being said, I tend to outline only pivotal moments and a general order of events, which allows me to see…[Read more]

@r-j-wordsmith Thank you for the kind welcome. 🙂 Whether or not the animals interact (at least directly) with humans depends on which series I am working on at the moment. I have two series, which are loosely intertwined; one of them is set on a farm in the American Midwest, the other in a wild pecan grove in a river bottom of the same region.…[Read more]

@kina-lamb Nooooo…I can’t draw to save my life, haha! I’m not exactly sure who the artist is. I’ve read most of the Anne of Green Gables series, actually. 🙂 I liked Anne a lot when I was little, but it’s been a long time since I last read any of the books.

@audrey-caylin @theliterarycrusader Yes, I currently have just the imaginary goldfish. I was going to get a goldfish last week, but then I accidentally found guinea pigs for adoption. Actually, I’m not exactly sure how I ended up getting guinea pigs at this particular time. I had been researching them and then…it kind of just happened that…[Read more]

@aratrea I think most people have readings from St. Vincent Milay is they take American Lit or an overview course. I had never heard of Amy Lowell before taking my literature classes, though, and I read a lot of classics. I would guess that she is lesser known than some.
@that_writer_girl_99 My favorite fiction author is Beatrix Potter, hands…[Read more]

@aratrea Yes, exactly. I also enjoy poets like Amy Lowell and Edna St. Vincent Milay, and other women who wrote during the period. Their writing has a slightly different feel to it than that of the men who were writing at the time, and that’s interesting to me. I think for writers in general, it was an era of knowing the rules so well they…[Read more]

Thank you all for your kind welcome. 🙂
@winter-rose My favorite novel is Little Women, but anything by Eleanor H. Porter is at the top of my list as well. I also have a copy of the Complete Poems of Robert Frost and the Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter, both of which I adore.
@aratrea Ooh, good question! Broadly speaking, I like the modern…[Read more]

@theliterarycrusader Well, you know… They say the way to find a squirrel is to sit in a tree and act like a nut. So, if we’re nuts, then we need to sit in a tree together and interview squirrels to get material for my next stories.

Hi, everyone! I’m Rachel. 🙂 I have a history of tripping when introducing myself in an important setting, so I thought, “Hey, why not carry on the tradition here?” Anyway. *coughs*
I heard about KP through Brianna. (She’s incredibly awesome, by the way, isn’t she? And several years of friendship do not in any way make me biased. Not a bit.)…[Read more]
