How about shoelaces, contacts, or false teeth?

Hi Sarah!
I’m not an expert when it comes to sword fighting either! But here’s a couple things I found helpful for those fight scenes.
The reason I find sword fighting so difficult to write about, is because it in itself is merely two men executing attacks and defenses with their weapons. (And I don’t know any technical terms for how they…[Read more] -

Hi Sarah,
That would be me. Feel free to ask me any questions on the subject. I actually submitted an article a couple weeks ago for KP on writing realistic sword fights. It hasn’t been published, but keep a watch out in case it ever is. Before you settle on your warriors fighting with broad swords, check what era your in. Broad swords (along…[Read more]

Hello, I’m back.
Very far from laughing Kate, I was rather pleased with the impression you received. Have him smile less often, especially when alone, and delete the thing about cowardice being his great fear, and that is very close to my actual character. It is my intention he will be led through much drama, but I am not very concerned that his…[Read more]

Why hello Sarah!
We do have a lot of animals 🙂 Our parrot is a blue fronted Amazon and her name is Princess Jewels, but she usually ends up getting called Birdie.

Rachel!
The fifth book is titled Daughter of Treasure and you can find it for sale at BookTango.com or on Amazon.
Hahaha! Yes I should like to add an aardvark to our mix! And maybe a koala bear and a hippo would be nice!I understand the grammar mistakes. I’ve gone back through my published book and fixed a few things as well. 🙂 I’d love to…[Read more]

Oh wow, that would be great! It would be the perfect opportunity to explore the more nitty-gritty aspects of married life— the pork chops that the wife burned, and the way her husband bravely ate them or loudly complained, depending on his temperament; the wife learning to manage a household, raising their first child, learning to economize…[Read more]

I certainly cannot claim to know the ins and outs of sword fighting, but I have found it helpful to look up instructional videos—though I haven’t got around to watching any of them yet :P—and illustrated ‘lectures’ or articles on technique. One thing to keep in mind, though, as you do this, is what kind of sword fighting are your characters…[Read more]

Oh yes, I couldn’t agree more. Some of the challenges I like in writing my own books are making the love stories (every one of my books is a love story to some extent, though not what you would consider a romance) as fresh and original as possible. My first book (The one that I would still acknowledge to be mine, that is) had a pretty ordinary,…[Read more]

Hi Rachel!
Well… 🙂 The first two were written when I was 13 and were part of a series (which was never completed) about three young children who are shipwrecked on an island that is a haunt for pirate’s and how they get home. The next two books were a start of a new medieval series following the children of the royal family and how they save…[Read more]

One interesting aspect of romance is the part readers are rarely shown. The ‘after marriage’ aspect. Most stories focus on the engagement, or sometimes go up to the wedding, but not many (that I’ve seen anyway) continue ‘romance’ after marriage, showing what happens then. True, that won’t always fit into stories, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the…[Read more]

Oh yikes, I just realized I missed a letter in my title. Sorry— there’s supposed to be an ‘r’ after the ‘p’ in present— or apparently, ‘pesent’. 😛

Edwin Brook… It sounds like the name belonging to a simple a sort of man who would prefer a quit life (wheather he’s allotted that or not). He’s above average in wealth and class and so looked up to by those who find that ranking of importance. He has a strong will and determined mind but at times his passion leads him into trouble. He’s the…[Read more]

I am trying to work on a novel illustrating doing what’s right even if your unjustly accused, but I’m always getting sidetracked with ideas for the other two novels I’ve had sitting on the shelf for a while. So right now I’m bouncing around from story to story. Sigh. Maybe one will take off in the near future 🙂
Wow working on a murder mystery…[Read more] -

Thanks for the quick definition— I think I get it now.
Yes, I agree one hundred percent with what you said about perfect characters.
Books without hardships? *Shudders*. Disgusting. A perfect story where everything is just hunky dory all the time would be worse even than a character that way.
And now we are out of a discussion. Can you think of…[Read more] -
