Totalitarian and despotic are better than tyrannical, or at least so I say. I especially like despotic or any of its variations.

Hey you may have something there…how many trees do you reckon he ruined accomplishing that?!
To add to our collection of demeaning and depressing words… pauper. And waif. And starveling. Which means basically the same thing as pauper… but oh well. Differences, you know.
Oh, and another really, really, really good word, especially for a…[Read more] -

Kate, he’s from OYAN. He knows the meaning of insane all too well. I was like the only one professing to be sane on that forum. I seem to be starting a pattern here…
Well, hi Mark! Welcome to Kingdom Pen! Always nice to have another active member around. 😉 If you haven’t noticed, we’re a bit of a ghost town. -

Doesn’t look that bad, actually. How far are you through it? What part got you bored? Please, tell us what is boring so we may give it a makeover.
The part that I think I’d have fun writing would be the whole disappearing thing. It’s not a curse and she gets captured or something, right? Just follow the logical progression of the story and find…[Read more] -

The word, Hannah, would be evolved. Another great one… only it has… hm… unsavory associations. 😛

Hm… never been in that situation before, but if all you’re wanting is inspiration, I might have a suggestion. What genre is your novel? What are some of the key story elements? Dragons? Ships? Space Shuttles? Turtles? 😉
Anyway, I’ve not tried this myself, but I imagine it would work. Do a Google search for writing prompts with dragons or…[Read more] -

Make something blow up or someone die. Add a few plot twists. What’s the plot of the story? Maybe we can help with the plot twists.

Petrichor, as Hannah W said. 🙂
Crumple is a good multipurpose writing word.
Fog
Privateer
Defenestration. The act of throwing someone out a window. I adore this one, but I’m still waiting for a chance to use it. Thankfully, I have a character who likes to use big words. 😉Has anyone read the book “Ounce, Dice, Trice”? Perfect book for word lovers. 🙂
