I half agree with you @dragon-snapper. If you work on a new project during your break, I think it’s fine though.

@winter-rose Breaks aren’t absolutely necessary, but they are really helpful. If you feel like your work is a sloppy mess, it’s more likely that you need a break from it. If I may be allowed to make a suggestion, maybe you should try a short-story or two. Just to get in the practice of completing things and making a coherent whole without all the work and indecision of a full novel.
