This is awesome! You need to write a whole collection of these and publish them in a book. At first, I thought your weakness was rambling. Now I see its your strength. Just ramble on paper.

The way I am doing it is to have the character appear to die in an accident in such a way that it does not seem suspicious that his body was not found. I then completely forget about him and have the other characters go on as if he were dead. Actually my latest knitting project is one my mom started when she was about sixteen, then gave to me to finish a long time later. It’s a scarf. Gulp. I still haven’t finished it.
