@bluejay That’s a good question. What we do know is that people in that time had a higher IQ, better genetics, and lived much longer than we do and so could accumulate a huge store of knowledge. Hence, it is only logical to conclude that the preflood world was highly advanced, but probably advanced in different ways than we are today. At the same…[Read more]

@sarah-h FYI, I searched “Christian cover-art forum” and KP was not in the top five result pages. Did not look farther.

I groan and thrust nervous fingers up through my hair, clasping my head and shaking it violently. “Not. Funny!” I snap.
He holds up his hands in surprised apology. “I found it rather endearing, actually— you used to do that all the time when we were kids.”
Tears of frustration sting my eyes, and I turn away to hide them. No sense in letting him…[Read more] -

What was this guy’s problem? All I wanted was answers to my questions. I’d only just lost all my memories, and he wasn’t even a little sympathetic.
“You know, I’m getting sick of your evasiveness. Thou art–” I cover my mouth. Where was the Old English coming from?
Gavin smirks at me. “Fairytales aren’t real, eh? Just watch and see.”
He…[Read more] -

I’ll be asleep unfortunately. I’ll have to study the Australian time zone(s) tomorrow to figure out how you Aussies and I can work together on this.

I could do it tomorrow anywhere from 1:30-3:30 pm EST.

@bluejay I’d imagine a caricatured somewhat elongated fellow leaning over another guy with one fist on his collar and the other fist raised. I’d have him staring into the other guy’s face with a smug investigative expression accompanied by a squarish scowl. You know, with one eyebrow up questioningly and the other sharply down in an angry look.

All of these ideas are interesting… hey, you might try combining them @hope. First off, you could have a misinterpreted prophecy regarding the King’s Horn for the whole book, that way everyone thinks that whoever blows it is the one whose enemies will be stricken down. That would keep the tension when E and K are fighting over it, and the…[Read more]

@bluejay That looks great! Only two little things. First, the “about” in “About forty days later” seems to be in the way. I think the poem will flow better without it. Second, I might put an ellipsis either before or after the “And guess what they saw?”
That’s it.
Best regards,

@hope Could the water actually physically come to the good guy’s army? Like, could it shoot out of the earth in a huge geyser and scatter its spray all over them?

I would agree that it would go better without the “typewriter”.

the bad guy as an ancient pear which doesn’t break.
*strokes chin with faint twinkle in eyes* I’m trying to imagine Keros fighting with an ancient pear that doesn’t break… or better yet, Keros as an ancient pear that doesn’t break. I think I’m failing. *cue hysterical laughter* That was supposed to be has a…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy, Ah! Thank you for clearing that up! I was getting confused between personal character goals and the main story. So now that I think about it, in my WIP the main story goal is to defeat the bad guys, like you said, but the MC’s goal is to find love. The MC is an orphan, and she’s had a pretty bad life so far…so her goal is to…[Read more]
