Daeus replied to the topic Villain Reveal in the forum Fantasy 9 years, 10 months ago
First of all, do the good guys just need to see the villain to know what he looks like, or do they need to interact with him through something like conversation or combat? Do they need to know that he is the villain, could they have no idea who he is, or could they be deceived into thinking he is someone he isn’t?

@WarrioroftheRealm hm… let me see. My first idea was, is there any way the villain could have a motive for meeting them without revealing who he is? Maybe he could go and seek them out for that reason (is he curious? Afraid? Daring? Arrogant?) and meet them as a simple traveler, and things escalate from there.
Or maybe he needs to ship something…[Read more] -

@aella This is becoming the busiest point of my year, so I haven’t been able to get to NaNo yet, but I should have a lot more time starting at the twentieth, so I’ll just do what I can now and pick back up then and try to get 25,000 words.

@daeus hey, you mentioned you were crazy busy lately, and I just wanted to let you know if you don’t have time for my work it’s totally okay for you to set it aside and focus on more important things. I don’t have any deadlines or anything, so if you need to do that I’m completely okay with it.
-
Not quite that busy, thankfully. I’m not able to do it every day, but I should be able to do a chapter every other day or so. The bible bee’s over in two weeks, so I should have more time then.
-
Oh that’s right, you were doing the Bible Bee too. I forgot. How’s that going?
@Daeus-
Good, but a little cramped. I have all the verses memorized, but I generally make about one or two slips a passage when reciting them. I’m also cramming a lot of the small stuff here at the end. We’ll see how it goes. I’m happy with it at least.
-
Well good luck. I hope it goes well.

@Anne-of-Lothlorien yes! Proof of Your Love, For the Dancing and the Dreaming, all the Piano Guys’ songs (check out Arwen’s Vigil.) and Edge of Night— I can’t even sing that without getting chills. 😀
A newfound favorite of mine that actually reads more like a hymn than anything else is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMH0UwzlUL4

@Anne-of-Lothlorien no, I haven’t. He sounds really good though. Is it high fantasy (epic) or heroic fantasy (personal)? Or a mix? LotR is a mix.

Heeeeyyy! In Freedom’s Cause, I’ve read that one. It’s been awhile, but I remember it being not too bad for a Henty.
High praise, I know. 😛And Scottish Chiefs is definitely worth reading. Not the best written in all aspects by any means, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
