@Northerner Aw, thanks. I’m not very far into it yet, but I really like it so far. It’s just one of those books that you find yourself rereading paragraphs several times to make sure you got everything… so yeah, you probably will hear from me again on this subject in the not-too-distant future. 🙂 Thanks so much for the offer!

@rachelle Ooh, digital art, how neat! AND comicy cartoony things. I guess you get the added satisfaction of being an artist and a writer at the same time. 🙂 One day I’m going to try some of that stuff… But at the moment, I stick to pencil, with a bit of water-color mixed in. I mainly do people too, though I’m more of a portrait artist.

@r-j-wordsmith There’s nothing so tragically wonderful as a sad story, and boy, you’ve written a good one. I have nothing further to add to what has already been pointed out, but I will say that I agree with you about the condemned sign. (Even though I didn’t know what it meant either. 🙂 ) If the house goes for sale, readers would be left to…[Read more]

@Daeus I’m not even going to attempt to read that list…yeesh, I didn’t know the writerly kind were such cowards! XD
@Dragon-Snapper *gasps* Is it an Elven cloak???
Now. I wouldn’t be completely honest if I didn’t say my biggest fear was letting other people read my stuff. Even the thought of giving my writing to someone else makes me want to…[Read more]

@Rachelle Human, elf, or dragon? 😉
Excellent choice, Lord of the Rings. Ever read the Silmarillion? (I ask because I’m currently reading it and need support…) What do you like to draw/paint? (And while we’re on the subject, is it drawing or painting? I’m an artist also; I appreciate that kind of thing. 🙂 ) Welcome to the Kingdom! Beware the…[Read more]

@aratrea Ah, okay. My sister pointed out the left-field thing as well. I’m spending some brain juice on it. I’ve got a rough catalyst for Mash #2, but I’m going over that one also and trying to make it more…catalystic.

@aratrea Wow, this sounds cool. Either the 24th or the 25th will probably work for me, but I’m pretty sure the 27th won’t, unless I’m blessed with a miracle. 😀

It looked like an ordinary door. It felt like an ordinary door. But it led into a room that was completely upside down.

@Daeus Thank you for giving meaning to my writers’ block. XD May happiness and prosperity follow you all the rest of your life.

Welcome, @R-J-Wordsmith, fellow Narnian and homeschooler! I too love classics, though I am afraid to say I’ve never read CoMC (sorry, @Daeus 😀 ) Who’s your favorite Narnia character?
Oh, and that’s so neat, your character cameos. I love when authors do that. 🙂

@aratrea I’m going to have to follow the trend here, because like everyone else, my answer is the same as the last one: Pain. In the same way that it has deepened me and pushed me closer to God, I feel like I use it a LOT to deepen my characters and help them grow.

Hey, @Kayla-Joy! Welcome aboard the S.S. Insanity! Though I would one day like to write a dystopian, I fear that I haven’t done it yet and am unqualified to offer you my assistance. However, I would like to cast my lot in with @northerner and @dragon-snapper and say NO TRIANGLES. Unless it’s absolutely necessary. 🙂

Characteristic Moment: Protagonist finds herself in a position where the greater safety of a number of people is dependent upon her undertaking a perilous mission, but she doesn’t see the point in sacrificing herself for them because she sees most of humanity as selfish, cruel, or just plain unintelligent.
Mash #1: Her good friend tells her that…[Read more] -

@daeus Happy trails. I got interrupted with a long and heated debate about character arcs with my sister, so I’ll be going a while yet.
