As someone who is not getting used to hearing weird politically correct phraseology in Health textbooks, I would honestly like this on a T-shirt please.
Aggghhhh I know, and I don’t even have those sorts of books (all my textbooks are either creationist or old from before the social justice junk)

I just realized you might still be deciding all this. I’m sorry if this is not something you’re confident on. Questioning dystopian premises is what I do every time I read a book with this stuff.

Meaning? Is America taken over by another country and that country is the one making the laws?

It’s sort of mirroring a Soviet era takeover.

I get that. I was actually saying I don’t see how that’s a viable strategy for a country right after a world war and civil war.
This is the thing I said that I’m most concerned about:
Because you just said family is what the men believe is worth fighting for, and if this is still America and they’re ravaged this badly, w…

Oh sorry. You said you couldn’t see america banning family, and I’m saying they just declared that children belong to the government, not families. They are already laying the blueprints for doing it. Just not as dramatic as my book.

actually, there is a bill that got passed by america allowing homosexual couples to have children
I’m not sure what this has to do with my questions. *Mind-scattered confusion* Am I just not understanding the link between this and what I asked?

Huntress
Gabriel told me to wake him up for the next watch and proceeded to make himself more or less comfortable by the fire. Sniper and Soldier did the same.
I watched the fire for a few minutes before my attention was diverted by some large animal in the distance. It didn’t appear to be targeting us, or hostile…[Read more]

just, like, never mind that it doesn’t make BIBLICAL sense, nothing about that law even makes SCIENTIFIC sense.

@ellette-giselle but they….can’t have children? Biologically?
like yeah adoption is a thing but that’s different (not that I agree with homosexual couples or the idea that they could raise children, because I DON’T, I’m just saying I know of incidents where that’s happened)

Ellette Giselle replied to the topic The Chat Chat in the forum General Writing Discussions 2 weeks, 4 days ago
actually, there is a bill that got passed by america allowing homosexual couples to have children and in the bill they said that the reason they are allowed to have children is because children belong to the government, not to families. Now, nothing has built off of that bill, but it’s a perfect springboard.

Wait, is this still the American government enacting everything or is this another country controlling it? Because you just said family is what the men believe is worth fighting for, and if this is still America and they’re ravaged this badly, wouldn’t they want people to have a fighting motive? Taking family away just makes…[Read more]

There’s an old quote that I love that was said by a man once. He said, “Give me a wife to fight for and children to protect, and I’ll conquer the world with my bare hands.”
This is also an America after the devastation of WWIII plus a Civil War to boot, which completely wiped out half the country and just about destroyed the half…[Read more]

Mel
“Um… Okay then.” Mel scooped up the snail and slowly climbed down, staring at the creature in her hand the whole time. She came to stand next to Lucy, and looked up at her blankly. “So who’s they?”

@ellette-giselle BIRTHING LOTTERY?!!
That alone just—just—…….oh my gosh I hope the US never, ever, ever gets to that point, because HECK NAW IF THAT HAPPENS I AM REGISTERING MYSELF AS DEAD THIRTY YEARS AGO AND MOVING UNDERGROUND.

We’ll see.
That’s the fun of not knowing how your own story will turn out in the end, I suppose. You can’t plan everything. (One side of me wishes it were possible, though.)

Without a family to fight and provide for, men loose their purpose. (It was actually a strategy developed by communist Russia though it was never fully established)
That’s really interesting. I’ll have to look into it. Sometimes I hear about a government control strategy I didn’t know about previously and sometimes it’s like “o…[Read more]
