I read–or rather my mum read to me–Heidi many years ago. I don’t remember being particularly impressed by it and I kind of lumped it under Pollyanna/Anne of Green Gables/Elsie Dinsmore/What Katy Did and all the other girl books I didn’t like, but I should definitely try it again.

I honestly think this is a matter for your conscience. Some Christians feel comfortable writing/reading books with swearing, others don’t. I personally choose not to add in curse words because I just don’t see the point. I think it also depends on who you’re writing for. yes we lost a guinea pig in the spring. we’ve actually lost three over the last few years, two of them due to using the wrong bedding for their cage. We didn’t know that pine bedding wasn’t good for their respiratory system. 🙁

Oh, that’s so sad! We just had to put our pony down so I know what it feels like. I’ll be praying for your sister and your family.
