Sci-Fi Tips Part 6
So I’ve given a basic idea of three popular sci-fi sub-genres: the alien invasion, space opera, and robot genre. I hope I’ve given you enough information to reveal the possibilities available within these genres. But, to tell you the truth, I don’t think you should write within a genre. It can be a great starting point, but…[Read more]

@That_Writer_Girl_99 in general. I know I sort of left you hanging in the middle of a brainstorming session, and we were going to do that character exercise thing too, and I still want to do that. I just wanted to let you know I hadn’t disappeared off the face of the earth. ;P

@That_Writer_Girl_99 I’m not ignoring you, I promise. 😛 Life got really busy. I’m helping my little brother sell some of his hand made walking sticks at a festival and also selling some jewelry I made, and making more, on top of every-day busy-ness with everything else our family does. Things should slow down by next week though.
Just fyi. 😉

@dragon-snapper Okaaay . . . yeah, sure I’ll ignore that.
SFR-P2 <– that’s cool btw Yeah, genres are always changing in popularity, but even in form. They’re always being combined and transformed. If you’re interested there’s a really cool essay on how genres change. Click here to read it.

Sci-Fi Tips Part 5
I believe one of the best science fiction genres is the “robot” genre. Here’s why:
Technology has always been a key part of advancement. Humans have always depended on machines throughout the years, and the technology we depend on has advanced too (from the wheel to the microprocessor). As the quality of technology advan…[Read more]

Sci-Fi Tips Part 4
The most well-known genre of science fiction, thanks to Star Wars, is probably the space opera.
The space opera is primarily characterized by adventure and space travel. Space battles. Belligerent aliens. Futuristic gadgets. These are just a few of the elements of the space opera.
Parallels can be drawn between space operas…[Read more]

Wait. Are you for real? We’re a stereotype? There’s nothing stereotypical about writing fiction…
@That_Writer_Girl_99 *grins* Chill. I’m totally teasing. It’s just that the stereotypical career choice of an INFP, according to popular consensus in the MBTI community, is writing fiction. That, or poetry. Which I love. 😉 SO I guess that makes…[Read more]

@warrioroftherealm This is really cliched to say, but just freewrite. Sit down at a laptop or use longhand, and begin writing your heart out. What are you trying to say? Who are you trying to say it to? How does the Bible tie into this? What’s God’s view on this? What are different perspectives on this topic?
For me, if I force myself to write…[Read more]

@Jess-Penrose DID SOMEONE SAY MBTI. 😮 XD
AHEM. Yes. Well… in summary, I love Myers Briggs because I think people are downright fascinating and I love the insight it gives you into people’s minds. I love it just for that, but it’s also really helpful with characterization if you understand it properly. And hey! I’m an INFP as well. *grins*…[Read more] -

@Jess-Penrose oh ha! XD Tabasco sauce is a really, really spicy hot sauce. If you look at my avatar it’s a baby dragon with Tabasco for his bottle. I don’t like it but I adore the thought of a baby dragon growing on it. :”D
