  • I LOVE poetic descriptions. Beautiful word-weaving that, in describing the physical or external, gives you a feeling, a style, a character, a rich inner world. They are tasteful in what they say, and I willingly gobble it up because I feel like it actually matters.

On the other hand, I quite hate info dump style descriptions, because honestly, I…[Read more]

  • Okay heyo I know I’m late to the party but here’s my two cents:

I don’t agree with the morals behind either but as well done speculative fiction, they can shine an interesting view on human nature. They are in no way realistic, from what’s popular and what I’ve read at least, to what I believe. However, like I said, they can be good…[Read more]

Well, one of my good friends is, yes. I don’t have a singular best friend. 😉
Well that’s lovely. All those things are. And I guess I should clarify how MBTI isn’t what you like, it’s a thought process (which often leads to liking certain things) but it was a funny example. xD So yeah. *high fives INFP person with cool avvie*

    Thanks. Glad to be here.

  • XD mwahahaha.

  • @Hannah, that would be adorable. Equally unrealistic, but adorable.

    @Ezra
    1. SO much this. In fact, I think there was a meme of Mr. S relevant to this floating around on pinterest somewhere, which I shall find and bring back at a later date.

    2. Yuppers. I guess some people think their writing can’t stand alone without some sort of shock…[Read more]

Why thank you. INTPs are great, aren’t they? 😉

  • Right, love at first site in American culture usually means two people find each other physically attractive, and that’s it. Whoopdy-doo. How rare this occurrence is. It is truly destiny that has brought you two together! Not.

American stories do tend to focus on feelings rather than anything more solid. That’s why I say it’s unrea…

    Depends on the genre. Greatly.

    For modern day realistic fiction:
A character who ends up being the first pilot from their town will not realistically have a name with the meaning ‘flight’ ‘bird’ or anything like that.
A character who dies young will not naturally have a name meaning, ‘fallen youth’ or ‘young death’ or something along those…[Read more]

  • Pet peeves in romantic literature.

    1. Synonymous use of crushes/love at first sight. Yeah, that’s not love. That’s over-idealizing someone from a distance, often enough. I think this can be used very well as the flaw in the beginning of a character arc (for example, Q in Paper Towns, about Margo) But it can’t be the driving force for why [blank]…[Read more]

What we ‘pretend’ is ironic wit by using intelligence ‘stupidly.’

Heyo. Yup, in a book. I mostly write free verse, and I’m not an expert on meter, but I am fairly comfortable with it, so I’ll check out the thread (probably in the morning though.)
Thank you. I’m glad as well. 🙂

I’m Emma. OYANers, you may know me as EtceteraBlue. And at long last I have made a KP account, because I am slow at…things.

So who am I? (No, not 24601.)
I um, like to write things. Big surprise, right? *snerk snerk* What do I write? It ranges. Greatly. I like story of many forms, and I am indecisive, a charming mix. I write quite a bit of…[Read more]
