@perfectfifths, That is great!! @daeus, writing music is a whole lot harder than writing and playing music put together!
@perfectfifths I will probably write and teach music on the side. 🙂 I don’t really know where God wants me to go, but I plan on going on several missions trips in the next couple of years. 🙂 Do you plan on having a writing career?
@rolena-hatfield Thanks! I have not personally read these but I have heard that Prisoners of the Sea and The Printer of Udell’s are really good Lamplighter books! My personal favorites have already been listed, but I also like A Lost Pearle, The House of Love, Stepping Heavenward, and Amy and Her Brothers. I haven’t really started any “writing projects” in a while, but I was doodling around with a poem yesterday. About the Irish whistle, it probably is the sound that you hear in Irish music, but I am not that good and I haven’t played in a while. 🙂
@perfectfifths I am actually thinking about getting into foreign missions, so I plan on getting a nursing degree in college and teach music and write on the side! 🙂I love the Peep Behind the Scenes audiodrama!!! It is definitely one of my favorite books, I just forgot to mention it.
Christi. That. Is. So. Awesome. I love Stepping Heavenward so much!
I enjoy reading G. A. Henty’s books, like the Cat of Bubastes and the Young Carthaginian. The others that come to mind that I also enjoyed reading were Horatio Alger’s Ragged Dick series (set in the Great Depression), R. M. Ballantyne’s books, missionary biographies/autobiographies, and I could go on forever. 😉
What about you?@ethryndal We have goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and bees. 🙂
@kate-flournoy I write “poetry”, non-fiction, and historic fiction. I guess that’s what you mean by genres. 🙂
@perfectfifths That’s really awesome! I have been playing violin for almost 10 years, guitar for 2, ukulele for 3, and piano for almost 8. It has taken a lot of commitment, but all the practice is worth it. 😉 I enjoy playing classical, hymns, and bluegrass!
@christi-eaton Hi Christi! Yes, I am very familiar with Lamplighter! 😉 My family loves it!
@emma-flournoy My favorite instruments that I play are the violin and guitar, but my favorite instruments are the violin, cello, and oboe. 🙂
@sarah-hoven I just finished Fire yesterday! 🙂 It was the first I had ever read from the series. It was great! I will be getting another tonight from a friend!
@gabrielle I haven’t had a piano teacher for a while, so the only piano music I play now is for church and I really enjoy that. 🙂- This reply was modified 7 years, 11 months ago by Emma L..
@emma-flournoy : That’s great! Which do you like best, piano or violin? My favorite books (I can’t pick just one) include Do Hard Things/Start Here by Alex and Brett Harris, Hidden Hand by A.L.O.E., the White Gypsy by Annette Lyster, Fire; The Great Awakenings by Bill Bright and Jack Cavanaugh, and so many others that I don’t have time to list. 🙂
@daeus : I’m sure I will!
@haileyh412 : Welcome and thanks for welcoming me! 😉 -
