@emma-flournoy, Whoops, sorry. I thought that was explained better. There isn’t only five kids. Those are the main characters. They each have one power. I’m not sure how, but either the kids will be told by their parents(s) or realize on their own that they are different. Some of the original testers were able to hide in the cities and so the…[Read more]

Looks like you’ve got it almost figured out, @jess! @emma-flournoy, good points. Maybe, the reason for having only five descendants is a one-child-per-family law sort of like China, to ensure a steady birth/death rate and to prevent over-population and famine. Your world reminds me of The Giver, by Lois Lowry. Not saying you can’t use that world…[Read more]

Hi! I’m back again. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I have the background info now. What do you think? I’m trying to make it not cliche-ish. 🙂 Thanks a billion! 🙂 🙂 🙂 @emma-flournoy @hope @bluejay @julia-r @overcomer @anne-swiftblade @mark-kamibaya @dragon-snapper

@julia-r, @emma-flournoy, I liked Dalton too. Only thing is, I realized he is a minor character in the five kingdoms series. So hard to find names that aren’t taken. Hazel was in Percy Jackson. I might still use Dalton. ..

@emma-flournoy, I liked Jax, so I’ll keep that. Do you by chance like Dalton (boy) or Hazel (girl)?

Jess replied to the topic Plot help please! in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 9 years, 7 months ago
Wow, everyone. Thanks for all the ideas. I think I can come up with something…
Why are both of Jaxes parents missing? Is he the main character? Is he more important than the others? Is he the key to unraveling a mystery, possibly the mystery of the missing parents?
@anne-swiftblade, So I was thinking that one parent was switched over to the…[Read more]

@overcomer, thanks, more to mull over. *sighs* I like the secret rebellion one… But then I still have to figure out the parents thing. Maybe they attempted something similar, but were imprisoned… But why would they have superpowers? *growls* I can’t sleep well when I’m thinking about plot ideas. (anyone else like that?) Hey, 🙂
So, I have this poem from last year that I know needs some work, (ahem, a lot) but before I hacked it to pieces I thought I would share it first and see what y’all think.
Does it make any sense? Do you have any suggestions? Any ideas? Give me your harshest criticism! Hahaha! 😉 (Seriously, please do! And tell me if it’s terrible!…[Read more]

I have got BIG news. (No I didn’t just get engaged.) I entered a writing competition a few months ago and the presentation for the prizes was last night. I had just moved out of the 14-18yrs, so I was against adults. *nervous gulp* But here are the results.
Adult short story – Anna’s Savanna – 1st place
Adult poetry – I’m proud to be Australian -…[Read more]-
Wow!! Way to go, @Bluejay! Great work! Congratulations! So proud of you. 😀

@kate-flournoy Oh, thanks. 🙂 I was so shocked when it happened. 😀

That’s fantastic and super exciting! Congratulations! I love the fact that we have amazing KeePers who are sharing their stories. Great work! 🙂 🙂 🙂
-
From stories shared, we learn. 🙂 @christi-eaton I should go in for quote making. 😛
-
You totally should @bluejay 🙂 Who knows I may have to use some of your stuff. I love quotes, and accidentally stumbling across good ones 🙂
-
-
-
Sweet @bluejay! 🙂
-
😉 @daeus Totally (please tell me that you’ve seen Finding Nemo.)
-
@bluejay I have. What does that have to do with this?
-
I got it! 😀
-
@christi-eaton & @julia-r Yay! You got it. 🙂
-
-
-
-
@bluejay– Awesome! That’s so cool! Writing competitions scare me. Way to be brave!
-
@julia-r Writing competitions can be scary. I felt sick as we were driving over. But it is a great reward for all the hard work put into story writing.
-
-
Congratulations! That’s really exciting. You keep writing those stories, and someday you’ll make a difference in the world.
-
@anna-brie I hope to make a difference one day. My younger sister wants to publish a set of stories about a cat called Chaos, that I’ve written, so maybe one day….
-
-
Woo Hoo! Way to go, @bluejay
-
@clairec Thank you. 🙂

-
Congratulations, @bluejay!!!!!! That is so exciting!
-
@hope I still can’t believe that it’s happened!!!!!!! Thanks.
-
-
@dragon-snapper Finding writing competitions is definitely hard. I only know one or two.
*grins* No worries. *takes one of the ice creams and sits licking it happily*-
@dragon-snapper For some reason your comment has disappeared. 🙁 Did you want to write a new one? 😉
-
*sniffs pitifully* It doesn’t like me!!! Wahhh!
Anyways, I said something about finding KP in my search for writing competitions, and Congratulations!-
@dragon-snapper I think it was partly my fault. Did you “reply” to the comment I sent to Hope. Cause I found a spelling error in my message, after you had posted, and so I deleted it and made a new message and it probably took yours too. You can go to you history if you wanted to find out what you said.

Yay!!! That’s so exciting! I would’ve been so nervous to go up against adults. Good for you! 🙂 Would you mind posting Chaos and The Drummer Boy? I’d sure like to read them. 🙂
-
@sarah-h I was nervous. Extremely nervous. I only expected a highly commended. I will definitely let you read Chaos and The Drummer Boy. I shall send them to @spradlin for publishing. (Only with Chaos, it’s a series of stories which if you read number 3. (which this one is) it won’t make much sense. I shall have to send in 1 & 2.
-
@bluejay Great! I can’t wait to read them! 🙂
