Emma Flournoy

  • Welp, I got an email about the Bunyan Fiction Writing contest yesterday. I didn’t win or get runner-up, but that’s okay 🙂 Still waiting about the magazine one, but the winner isn’t decided until next month, so yeah 😛 🙂

    Sup, KeePers?

It’s official, I’m stumped. I’ve been roaming the fields of my imagination in circles for months, looking for an awesome antagonist for my WIP (codename: Personification), but to no avail.
I’ve seen that same tree representing the power-hungry, stereotypical Overlord one too many times, and I think I have finally drained my…[Read more]

  • Hey everyone! Just one more call throughout the Kingdom (along with the splendiferous help of @Daeus‘s tag) to see if any other KeePers will be at the Best of British Science and Bible Conference at the Creation Museum next Friday and Saturday! Just because I’ve not had time to be on here doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about you all, and I look…[Read more]

  • Hello all! This weekend I will be performing in a production put on by my church. I’m rather nervous; the play is about some pretty dark stuff, and I’m not sure how our audiences react.
On top of that, a multitude of accidents and tragedies have plagued members of the cast. Tensions are high. The devil is trying to distract us from the…[Read more]

  • Thanks, everybody. 🙂

@kate-flournoy Well, currently it’s 66,578, but I expect it to get up to 70,000 or more by the time it’s done. I’m pretty much your opposite. 😛

@aratrea @winter-rose @jenali @audry-grace The basic premise is that these two teens, a brother and sister, accidentally find themselves taken back in time through this time…[Read more]

I’m so glad it came! I enjoyed writing it. That alone made me feel better that day. Plus that piece of scrapbook paper was just begging to be an envelope <3 And yes, I am feeling better, I'm so darn close to being done with school! I'm ready for Summer. How was your day girly?

    • I love homemade envelopes. 😀

Not too bad…we went to a funeral today, the funeral of that Mrs. Keusal who I’ve talked about some on the Prayer Request topic, if you’ve seen. It was sad, but good too. She’s resting in the arms of Jesus safe from all troubles now.
And then we had a bit of fellowship afterwards, with a potluck lunch. There were…[Read more]

    • Ah, yeah someone in my church totally unexpectedly just passed away so I know what that feels like. That’s cool that you get to see the Lamb family! No one here at KP lives anywhere near me, not even within a few hours, (with the exception of Joy Mastron and Anne Swiftblade (her real name is Sarah van den Ham) because they are long time friends of…[Read more]

    @Emma-Flournoy Hey, it’s us! 😀

Yes, we finally watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Words fail me. That was…the weirdest…and the most hilarious thing I think I’ve ever seen.

    • WONDERFUL! It’s so hilariously insane, I know. 😀 The square-dancing/barn-raising scene nearly kills us with laughter every time, and others too (like the ‘sobbin’ women’ sequence’). Isn’t it great though?! Which brother was your favorite?

    • Huh. Dat’s weird. I got your reply by email, but it’s not here. Huh.
Anyway. Gideon’s my favorite too! I love his and Adam’s relationship especially. 😀
And I know, it’s such a catchy line. You can’t help it. I say it all the time too. (And William can imitate the shopkeeper’s voice wonderfully, when she says “My window!” with such…[Read more]

      • @Emma-Flournoy Yeah, it kept saying weird things like “Error! Your message could not be posted”. *shrug*

Emma, our families were meant to be. Political correctness is one of the number one things we get a kick out of. Diabolically amusing is the perfect way to sum it up. I went and told my family about ‘people of larger than average girth…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Wow, turkey hunting, sounds fun! I’m glad it wasn’t hot for you there, (it was about 90 here today) Well, I know you went to bed a long time ago but I think I’m going to roll off to bed a little early (its 9:30 here) I have rehearsal and a birthday party so I won’t be around and I’m sure with all your turkey hunting you won’t be…[Read more]

  • I don’t think I came across your post regarding a prayer request for her, but I’ll definitely be praying for her family now that I’ve seen it. @emma-flournoy

    You are so right 😀
I got a ton of schoolwork done and got back from the park a little bit ago. I also mailed letters so I’ve been having a much better day, how about yourself? How are you doing today?

  • @Emma-Flournoy Aw, thanks. I’ve finally learned to go talk to my mom when I’m feeling depressed, because just having her know what I’m going through takes some of the weight off of my shoulders.

    I think we’re kindred spirits. Telepathic. 🙂

  • @emma-flournoy Thank you, thank you, thank you for the kind, encouraging verses. And thanks to everyone who is here for moral support.

  • Hey, I just want to pop in here and say, it’s so encouraging seeing you all be open about your struggles. Depression (from writing AND life) is something I’ve struggled with myself, but I’ve always felt like I needed to keep it hidden and be happy all the time, or people might think less of me. It’s nice to know I’m not alone there, and that…[Read more]

Well, today is a new day and I am feeling much better. Last night my big sister, Sarah, was able to Skype me which we hadn’t done in a long time and we just chatted for just under and hour and a half. It was really good and I slept super well which is something that also hasn’t been happening a lot lately. So I’m going to pump out a…[Read more]

Thank you, love <3 I hope you have an amazing day tomorrow too, I also already got your letter written today…(I shamefully ignored most of my other duties today because I just didn't have the heart to get anything done) But your letter was written so I'll probably get it mailed tomorrow. 😀 It was a happy distraction this…[Read more]

I really hope you're feeling your go-out-and-conquer charismatic ESTJ self soon. It's so much easier to do life when you're actually feeling enthusiastic, not just pretending on the outside. 😛
      Love you Christi.

        • @Christi-Eaton Yay!! That’s wonderful.
My day hasn’t been too bad. I went listening for turkeys early this morning with my dad and sister Elizabeth, and tomorrow I’m turkey hunting.
My head’s not been too bad today, and it wasn’t hot today ( 😛 heat never helps), and though I haven’t had time for a ton of stuff I’ve generally had a decent day. 😀

Yeah, I understand what that’s like to be okay and then not and then about the same for a long time, I’ve been like that myself, though I rarely talk about it to anyone. Normally, when someone asks me how I am, I reply with a two word lie “I’m fine.” So I won’t lie to you. But honestly, I hope I don’t sound as horribly…[Read more]

It gives me a joy just to read that. I need to remember it more often. The problem is that I forget my purpose in life, and so any sort of failure seems like a defeat, but really, I’m just here as a tool, so I just need to do my best and God will make it worth while.
