@shannon Oh, definitely check them out! It’s one of my favourites, especially the third book, Samara’s Peril. It’s definitely for young adults, but it is a great story, and the characters are wonderful.

@shannon Is it the aspect of magic that a lot of fantasy has? Because I know some Christians do have problems with that. I personally think magic is pretty cool, but it also depends what it entails, how dark it is, and who uses it and how.

@Ethryndal definitely better. I love it just how it is, but as Daeus mentioned, you might cut out the first bit about her step-sister without any damage and probably with benefits.

You might keep a long version like this for use on your blog, but if you’re going to use this on a sales page or book cover, yeah, it needs to be short.
