@waterlily If the story needs just a few tweaks, I’d push through and keep going with what you’ve got. Sometimes stories have a way of writing themselves, and sometimes characters do things that we didn’t plan for. It happens. I’d push through and keep going.

@0-0enyali0-0 As Dekreel said, focus on the characters rather than the fight and that’ll make the scene that much better.

I can’t recommend research enough. Learn as much as you possibly can about the method of fighting that you’re using. The more you know, the easier the fight scenes will become to write.

@0-0enyali0-0 @dekreel‘s advice is very solid. Maybe if you have a fight scene that isn’t too long you could post it here for critique.

@shannon I’m sure there are loads of preserved letters from the time period you could get a hold of to study.

@supermonkey42 @silverclaw-bonnetfolly Unfortunately, I don’t think we have any way to do that at the moment. I can bring it up in the staff group page though and see if it can be remedied.

@Dekreel everyone else has some good ideas, and I second theirs. Basically, if you can bring in a side plot or throw in another antagonist to add more conflict and higher stakes it’ll keep your middle going strong.
