@That_Writer_Girl_99 okay! I’ll get to it right after I’ve finished these evil maths worksheets. 😛

Josiah DeGraaf replied to the topic Perfect Parents? in the forum Characters 9 years, 5 months ago
@bethanysinkyroses I’ll second what Daeus said about the importance of characters who journey from darkness to light. I’ll also say that I dislike the current trend in fiction where parents are incompetent and merely obstacles in the protagonist’s path. =P
That being said, I don’t think writing perfect parents is a good solution to that problem…[Read more]

@bethanysinkyroses Quick answer: It’s okay to portray anyone unrealistically.
Long answer:
I think what’s going on in your example (not having read it) is that the author is trying to shine the spotlight on Christianity by making it idealistic in their story.
This isn’t really doing what they think it is though. The spotlight is focused in…[Read more]

I’m doing a few things for my math class right now, but I hope to get to writing shortly.
Truthfully, I meant to log on and get some writing done last night, but my parents surprised me with an early graduation present–an iPhone 7!–and backing up my old phone, taking pictures off my old phone, then getting my new phone to connect to iTunes and…[Read more]

@graciegirl Yep, it’s self paced.
Hehe! *peeks over a block of cheese as he munches on it* The mini course is just a small teaser. Feel thou teased.

Josiah DeGraaf replied to the topic Question about the webinar and theme mastery course in the forum Film 9 years, 5 months ago
@northerner Yes–it will be recorded. 🙂 We’ll be sending out a link sometime after the webinar Monday or Tuesday.
The normal price of Theme Mastery will /probably/ be $147 (we’re still ironing down the details), but we’ll be running a sale where it’s only $97 for the first week of its release.

Hi @emily-d!
Rhythm (aka meter) is a great thing to use even if you also use rhyme. The first thing to do is to learn the basic patterns of meter. You can easily learn about those online. I also recommend the book The Roar On The Other Side to learn poetry.

I’ll second Woodland Quill and Helping Writers Become Authors. Storymonger is also good and is run by a guy who used to write for KP 4-5 years back, but the site is no longer being updated so you’ll need to read the archives: http://thestorymonger.com/ Similar thing with Bryan Davis’ website; he’s still posting critiques, but to get his writing…[Read more]

@graciegirl Well that took longer than expected. Sorry. Here’s Nykkai. She didn’t exactly turn out how I intended. (It would seem that none of my drawings do… 😛 ) Her eye’s are a little too white.
