@dragon-snapper We’ll I think you’re the first to ever reveal their name after hiding it for a long time. It’s kinda funny too because Danielle has a really soft feel to it which…doesn’t exactly make me think of a dragon. lol. Don’t burn me with a ball of flame, please! I like the name. It starts with a Da, after all. What more could you ask for?

I’m on. Watching a movie and outlining, though I might just be watching a movie…

@kate-flournoy Haha, I know, feels like it went by really fast, huh? Seriously, though–your help over the past year has meant a lot. *all the hugs*
@daeus Goodness, I really didn’t intend on being that philosophical, but…yeah. That pretty much sums up how I’m feeling right now.
@aratrea I know…crazy. It’s been quite a ride.

@that_writer_girl_99 Seems hard to believe it’s only been a year. Feels like you’ve been a part of this for much longer than that. 🙂

@dragon-snapper *drops jaw* Did you just reveal your…actual name?

Daeus replied to the topic A Year Ago… in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@That_writer_girl_99 I’m feeling slightly sentimental like you’re leaving, but you’re celebrating the fact that you’re not leaving. I find that utterly fascinating. Write that down somewhere. Happiness can be sad.

1. Ditto to what Josiah said — I’d love to follow you on there 😀
2. I don’t really have much experience with FB, to be honest 😛 I connect with most of my readers via Instagram and Twitter. I occasionally do an FB post, but mainly because that’s what everyone else does. *hides* I think @jane-maree and @winter-rose will have…[Read more]

Step #1: Post the FB page link here so we can follow you. 😀
Step #2: Make sure it’s linked on your blog, and possibly include a link to it in your welcome email sequence for new subscribers (assuming you have a mailing list).
Step #3: My personal approach has been to be posting writing or reading related statuses 4-5 days a week, and then as…[Read more]

@That_Writer_Girl_99 I’m so so happy that you checked out the ‘too good to be true’ forum. This place wouldn’t be the same without epic people like you to spread some happiness and friendly words of encouragement and advice.
Seriously, girl. You’re amazing. <3

Elizabeth replied to the topic Why do you write? in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
Yo.
So…the reason I write has, inevitably, changed as I’ve grown up. At first, I wrote stories because it was fun. I was a creative kid, and I enjoyed writing because it allowed me to pursue my fun, crafty side. As I got older, however, I started to realize just how much writing meant to me, and I started to dream about pursuing it as a…[Read more]

I was really going to try and wait another month before posting this, because that’s when my actual KP-versary is, but my internship ends next week and I’m kinda (really) sad about it, so I could use some love.
Anyway. March 26th, 2017–almost a year ago–I was sitting on the couch, doing schoolwork, when my mom told me about some ad she’d fo…[Read more]

Daeus replied to the topic Just a Bit… Dismal in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@dragon-snapper If the problem is just that your story seems too dismal, make sure there’s always an element of hope mixed in with the chaos and strive to focus on your characters’ yearnings/ambitions that drive them forward. If you’ve got that all down, I bout your story could be too dismal. Problems tend to intensify stories. It’s only stories…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper do you mean on a scene to scene basis, like too much reacting, or just in general when you’re describing emotions? Just having one emotion indicator can help, like if your character is scared, only mentioning her rapid heartbeat rather than her wide eyes, her rapid heartbeat, and her clammy hands.
I think it’s still fine to have…[Read more]

@Dragon-Snapper Is this problem arising in the current story you’re working on, or all of them as a whole? Because child, I’m almost finished reading your book, and I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about. If anything, I was going to say that you need to focus more on the emotion, not less. Is this a response from beta-reader feedback, or…[Read more]

@rochellaine Haha; I was worried for a moment that I should have recognized your name on here long ago. xD No; you’re fine. I remember who you are now, and I remember enjoying talking to you since there weren’t a bunch of people who stopped by the booth for extended periods of time at CHAP. Glad to know you ended up making it over to the forum. 🙂
