@perfectfifths Got it. A slow process like that can definitely be very effective and I’d recommend that as a natural way to do it. You may find, though, that it still helps to have a specific moment after the slow trust process where Amrei is forced to make a decision and chooses to trust Nylian at a pivotal moment to really hammer Amrei’s change home.

Welcome to the site @Revayah1! Glad you found us. 🙂 Yeah, there’s a pretty large INFJ percentage both on the forum and on the staff (though I think ENFJ is the most popular staff type at the moment…) Needless to say you’re in good company. 😉
Also tagging @christi-eaton for the Mark of the Lion reference.

@Shannon I keep hearing about the hurricanes down there in Texas, and I just needed to ask: You don’t live anywhere near all that craziness, do you? That’s some bad stuff. 🙁

@GracieGirl I range between 1000-2000-ish. And everyone else has very good reasons. XD

@belegteleri Unfortunately even the highest admin levels are not enough to overcome the limits our forum software places on us on that front. 🙁

@GracieGirl I think right around 1000-1500 is good, though like Daeus and Brandon mentioned, it depends on what you’re blogging about. I do inspirational/writing-themed posts and keep them right around that length 🙂
I think the key is to keep it easy to read with relatively short paragraphs, fonts that aren’t too small, headings, and sometimes…[Read more]

I can’t change it, but it’s possible that @aratrea or @rolena-hatfield could.

You people are way better at this than I am… After a whole day of intense thinking, the best I could come up with was… *drum roll*
A spotted gecko eats something dark, sticky, and probably harmful to mind and bodily health.
Erm… yeah. So much help.

@GracieGirl I actually researched this once, and the general consensus was that 1,000 words is a good length. However, like @Daeus said, this is largely dependent upon the subject matter. KP and K.M. Wieland can get away with longer posts because they’re more like articles. Short stories work as long posts too, but when I write small snippets…[Read more]

Fyi, K.M.Wieland’s posts are also often above 2,000.
I think a large deciding factor is your subject matter.

Daeus replied to the topic Blog Post Word Count in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 8 months ago
The articles on KP are about that length just for comparison.

@revayah1 Welcome!
*gasp* You’re writing a vengeance book? Those are the best ever.

@dragon-snapper I can see that a bit, but it didn’t really pop out at me. I think overall you have a pretty consistent writing style. I believe that if you work on just generally improving your style and edit your book a few times, the problem will disappear.

When you figure out the answer, please notify me. I would like to know too.
In other words, I have no idea. Shelob is the worst. *headdesk*

@that_writer_girl_99 @shannon Actually, I just came up with a story idea I’m pretty excited about. It just remains to be seen whether all the plot threads will tie together, but I’m pretty sure they will.
If you come up with any great dilemma ideas though, make sure to post them here. They could be great story inspiration for anyone else…[Read more]

Oh, hey, sorry @daeus I didn’t see this…
I think I need some background on the characters first. And the story. Like, are you just writing a random story? Or writing with a goal in mind?

Whew, that’s good to know. 🙂
I can’t even imagine what it must be like for those poor people. My mom and I were watching videos on the Weather Channel the other day, and the sheer destruction is just… crazy. Texas has and will be in my prayers for a long time.
Haha, no problem. I like to know my fellow Keepers are safe. 🙂
Ah, yeah, the gas. I live in Maryland, and even here, gas prices have skyrocketed. And yeah, I saw that about the rescue vehicles. The flooding is so terrible.
