Hey, everyone! I’ve recently been writing a lot of poems, some to include in my WIP and some just for fun. 😉 I’d appreciate any thoughts. @dekreel @aislinn-mollisong @lady-iliara @0-0enyali0-0 @foreverme @anyone
One of my favorites which is sorta based on a Bible verse:
In A Mirror, Dimly
In a mirror, dimly,
The love of God revealed.

@0-0enyali0-0 Hiiiiyaaa! Nice to see you!
(sorry in advance that my user-tag is super confusing to type, haha)
Yep, I noticed that it was quite creative xD No worries, I just copy and paste everyone’s user-tags, easy as that. 😉 It used to take my computer 2 minutes to load everything, too, but my dad mostly fixed it. I’m not exactly sure what he…[Read more]

Alrighty, guys…
I could use some help on this front. I’ve learned pretty well over the past few months how to show and not tell, but I actually am using that too much.
Don’t get me wrong. Always show over tell, but my problem is that I’m focusing way too much on the emotion. And Ike… Zelaya, they’ve all gone dismal.
How do I refocus my…[Read more]

@sam-kowal @warrenluther04 I agree, Saphira is great. She’s definitely one of my favorites. x)

Looking for beta-readers:
@catwing @dekreel @dragon-snapper @rochellaine @jenwriter17 I’ve been working on a short story (fantasy) about Norse mythology and am almost done. I was wondering if any of you could beta-read it? *hides behind computer* How do you give someone beta-reading access? Do you just post a Google Doc link and give them Comment…[Read more]

Most likely my favorite part. Hands (paws, 🐶) down!

@dekreel It was actually pretty well done. Since you’ve already had a lot of advice from others about story structure and characters, I’ll just note a couple of editing comments.
First of all, I think you need to do a little more research on helicopters. The first thing that struck me was the large size of the helicopters you were d…[Read more]

I have a new character! It’s an elf from my new short story (WIP) called Ualair Fencaryn. He has mid-back (if that’s a word) long blond hair, green eyes, and sharp, angular eyebrows. He has a hawk-like, thin, angled face. He is thin but muscular. He usually wears a green-brown tunic…[Read more]

@dekreel CHAP is a homeschool conference in Pennsylvania. Last year I was there with my family as vendors for our family ministry, and Josiah was there with a KP booth.

@dekreel I agree with the others, that it could benefit from more tension. I’d also try to think of ways to make the main characters more distinct from each other. This could also be a source of conflict, not that they dislike each other, but that different personalities can create obstacles they have to overcome because they care about each…[Read more]

@dekreel Oh my gosh! I did that but with a chess game. Well, sort of. I wrote a short story from the point of view of the chess pieces. I thought it was funny at the time. Needs a lot of polishing now.
You know you’re a writer when you see a stranger with a cast and proceed to come up with fifty stories of how they got the cast.

@dekreel Of course you had to end it there!
I rather enjoyed it. Based on other books I’ve seen, I’d place the target age around 8-10. It’s a good story, kinda simple, but similar in style to other books I’ve read for the 8-10 range.
Now, I’ve never seen those shows you’ve mentioned so I can’t say anything in regard to similar plots or…[Read more]

This actually isn’t all that bad. The writing flows nicely and does fit that of a children’s book. Though I agree with @sam-kowal that there is not enough tension that would keep a reader (especially a child) engaged. The story so far seems to be more of a description of the events that are happening as there is not much conflict or…[Read more]

@warrenluther04 Yes; just click the blue box at the top right corner of the google document that says “share” and you’ll get a link you can post on the forums. You can either allow comment access, or just let people view and then comment on the forum. Both ways have been done.
@rochellaine Thanks!
@warrenluther04 yeah I’d love to beta read for you!!! its been a long time since I read fantasy 🙂
@jenwriter17 Thanks! I’ll re-tag you on here when I post the link! 😀
Umm…and also it may be awhile until my story gets on here…. 😐😑😶 I’m having difficulties with Google Docs and the whole sharing thing…. (I am using a school email account and it isn’t letting me make a shareable link.)
Soooo….yeah. I’ll let you know when I get it up.
@jenwriter17
@warrenluther04 okay, no problem. 🙂 (sorry I don’t know anything about google docs to help)
@jenwriter17 Thanks! Sorry for making you wait…
Also, @skredder, would you mind beta-reading my story when I post it? Thanks!
Sure, I’d like to beta-read for you. 🙂
@skredder Thanks! I’ll notify you when I post it…which will hopefully be sometime fairly soon….
