134 posts… wow. I do believe you’ve hit gold with this thread, @dragon-snapper. 😛 😀
@jess Quaker Haven is in Syracuse, IN. It’s really awesome- if anyone on here can ever come when we go, you’d be more than welcome. It’s generally the first or third week of August when we go, I believe. I’m sure I’ll mention it when we get there.…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy I think Daa-us is right, though I’m not positive since you could pronounce it different ways, but my first guess of what you meant lines up with the correct pronunciation.

That’s another thing (thanks Sarah). We want to let you ask whatever you want, but we might still have a theme for each one. Anyone have any thoughts on that? What about having a prepared section as well?

@kate-flournoy Well, that’s the closest wrong one. And anyways, I don’t think there is an official pronunciation. I’ve never even asked my parents how to pronounce it, I just realized one day that I didn’t always pronounce my own name the same way, so I decided on what sounded best to me. Even my on family will pronounce it both ways, though I…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy Do you mean you’d rarely attend or rarely ask questions? One of the ideas here is that you can glean from the question others ask, or at least it could lead to a new idea.

@kate-flournoy Really? *laugs* was it Dee-us? D-s? Day-us?

*runs around the house singing one day more at the top of her lungs and doing gymnastics she never thought she could do*
I think this is an AWESOME idea @Daeus, and I think it’ll really be helpful for young writers. Bimonthly sounds a bit often, but you guys are the experts.
And just so you know I’d probably never participate; at least…[Read more] -

When it comes to logic, I always think I’m right and it is impossible to offend me because you’re wrong and I should be concerned about you, not myself
@Daeus thank you for summing up my life in one sentence. *hysterical laughter* Okay, I may be a little more sensitive than that, but when it comes to logic, I know when I’m right and if you don…[Read more]

Help!
So, like all of society, I’m a busy person. And when I do get free time, I don’t feel like writing, or I forget that writing is an option (gasp!) . Therefore, I have probably five unfinished novels on my computer, because when I look at them again, I forget exactly where I was going with my story, conversation, or characters. What should I…[Read more] -

Boy. I haven’t been on in forever.
@daeus– I would give this a 8. It’s a cool idea! Bimonthly sounds great! Suggestion: maybe do the panel on a Tuesday or Thursday night. Everybody I’ve talked to (for other events) are always bored on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and everybody always has something else going on on Friday and Saturday nights. And a lot…[Read more] -

@dragon-snapper Oh, yes. Nothing’s changing. This would be an add-on.

8,500 words is nothing to be ashamed about. Keep it up! Even if you’re a little behind one day you may pump out 5,000 words and get ahead! (that’ s what usually happens to me 🙂 )
Let’s see an update of my NaNoing journey 2016. (Wahoo!)
My story is a historical fiction set in 1498. It’s to be an analogy of the verse “A…[Read more]

@Daeus at this point in my life… a 6. But once I finally get going on writing every day (hopefully in January) It would probably be a 9 or 10. 😉 😀

Except people don’t convince me I’m wrong. They convince me that I need to reconsider something and then I convince myself that I am wrong. And I don’t show how confident I am of my opinions. I sound open minded even though I’m not… but I am very open minded… but I’m not… but I am! Ugh! It’s just an ENFJ thing. We’re both extremely dogmatic…[Read more]

@Daeus I was pretty sure you were exaggerating, but it was too good an opportunity to tease you to pass up. 😉
And yes, that is really annoying. Or when they keep asking the same question… over… and over… and over. And it’s just like “I’ve already answered that a dozen times already! Do you need me to explain it in a different…[Read more]

Well, 1st off, I suggest reading through your work to get the feel of it, then maybe read through any notes you took. That should get you warmed up.
2nd, you should remember how much fun it is to write, why you write. You seem to be lacking inspiration and/or motivation. Give yourself a little reward for writing something, like a little bit of…[Read more]
Hi Julia,
Five novels sounds like a lot. If you’re having trouble writing, you should probably shave it down to just one. Maybe you really really prefer jumping back and forth in-between novels, but, in that case, I would still only do two. Hopefully then you’ll be able to remember where you last where.
Your best motivation (and reminder) will…[Read more]
