Hey all, and anyone who sees this.
Thought I’d let you know I’m taking a week hiatus from the internets–I’m not leaving. I couldn’t dream of that. But anyway, I’ll still be beta-reading so worry not @daeus and @leumeister
I’ll return to the realm of the you lovely Kapeefers next week.
Until then,
Snapper out.

@Daeus Yeah, echoing Kate here: this has really got me thinking….Hmm.
Beyond what anyone else has said…I can’t think of anything. XD I believe that connecting and making a continual effort to stay connected with readers would be a HUGE way to go the extra mile. All the ways the others have mentioned sound great. *thumbs up*
Of course, like…[Read more] -

@daeus – What a great question to think about.
I think going the extra mile for me, whether in writing or just life in general, is like some others have said, building relationships with my “readers” or clients. People enjoy feeling “special” or like they’re privileged as being apart of something. So, for me, I enjoy spending time communicating…[Read more]

@Daeus for others directly… I think oftentimes it just surprises people when you remember them personally in a sea of other voices. Initiating contact instead of just responding, reviving an old joke, or maybe even remembering their birthday and surprising them. (*gulp* I barely remember my own… 😛 ) In other words letting them know that…[Read more]

This is awesome @his-instrument !
I especially love the one where Aladdin is loving his story. 😛 That’s how I feel. And then the one where Loki is like ‘What?’ to the plothole. That’s how I feel. Then especially when I get a new idea. The idea says ‘Hello.’ and I’m like, ‘ah!’ Seriously, that is so awesome!
I must tag people.

@daeus I discovered that for me, sometimes “go the extra mile” means “work extra hard to make sure my writing is the best it can possibly be.” To take the extra time to do another edit. To study more about craft. To be willing to learn. That’s really hard for me, because I don’t like to work on one project for very long. 🙂 But it’s been so worth it!

@Daeus I think that your original comment about Nadine is a very very good example. Your readers are a huge impact on whether your book is successful (obviously) so you need to treat them as real people and be their best friend.
Nadine is honestly such an amazing above-and-beyond-er. She asks her street team/ninja’s birthdays when they join so she…[Read more] -

@daeus Have you seen Skit Guys? Brainstorming for this has for some reason reminded me of their ‘bad ways to witness’ video…
“God, please send someone my way so I can witness to them.”
*Walks in*
*punchs other guy*
*falls down*
*holds up paper then drops it on other guy.* “Jesus loves you.” *walks off**grins and shakes head* don’t do that though.

I’d say theme has a lot to do with it. Reading a good book is one thing, but putting down a good book and having something to think about, that’s the extra mile for me. It’s something I strive to do, and enjoy reading even more. @daeus

@daeus, I told my sister about your suggestion to add a character with ice cream powers, and that inspired her to give the Cupcake Gang a pet cat named Frosty, that can spit out scoops of strawberry ice cream instead of hairballs (only at bad guys, of course). 😀 (she’s 7 by the way) 😉

@daeus and @Josiah DeGraaf: I’ve written about (?) three hundred poems, but there are 102 in my book. I do both free verse and rhyme, all forms (mostly forms I make up), but sonnets are pretty cool and I’ve messed around with those a lot, using the pentameter but breaking up the lines or using the lines but changing the meter etc.
@Elizabeth: I…[Read more]

Hi, everyone! These are just some questions I have about writing.
1. Whenever I’ve written stories before, I’ve never really thought about theme. Do I pick a theme for my story before I start writing it, or do I just start writing and hope it comes out?
2. I have several ideas that I really like, but I don’t know which one to pick. How do I go…[Read more]

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up! (I’ve been thinking about leaving the internet for a week or two myself :D) Enjoy your time away! 😀 😛
Right-oh. Have a good hiatus! 😀 Looking forward to getting your beta-reading back! ^_^
See ya soon.
Cya @dragon-snapper! Have fun. 🙂
Fare thee well, @dragon-snapper! *waves* Enjoy your break!
Good bye friendly dragon! My brother shall miss thine GIFs. Though you will return… Who will melt chairs in @dragon-snapper ‘s absence?
Wow, you’re putting me to shame. When I want to a take a hiatus, I just… randomly disappear for a week. *salutes* Farewell, @dragon-snapper, until we meet again. *mouth stretches into a maniacal smile as she peers at gifs* I look forward to it.
I’ll keep the chairs safe in your absence. 😉
Haha! I’m back, Kingdom Pen!
Now, where are those chairs?…
@daeus @kate-flournoy @that_writer_Girl_99 @ethryndal @catwing @shannon @daughteroftheking @salome01w4g @winter-rose @leumeister @
Oops, sorry. *Flips switch and holographic chairs render around the room.*
There you go. 🙂 😛
YAY! Welcome back to the Kingdom! *roars of dragonish delight*
*hides my chair* Welcome back!! *hands you the world’s biggest bowl of ice cream*
yipee!!!! Welcome back,* hands you a pair of eclipse glasses* 😀 ;P
*flies in through the window that is always there* Yay! My chair is all scratched up *cough* from me *cough* I can finally get a new one. *points to a chair that is falling apart* Your welcome present!
@dragon-snapper There we go. Now you must burn my old chair for my forgetting to tag you. *grins* I’m a genius.
@leumeister Aha! *melts all the simulated chairs*
@catwing *melts the real chair* Ahahaa!
@salome01w4g *takes glasses and puts them on over other pair of glasses* Thankee kindly.
@daughteroftheking I see you tried to distract me from your chair with ice cream…I’ll take the ice cream.
@shannon *bows* It was refreshing. 🙂
*hops into new chair that has now spawned* Thanks @dragon-snapper . *starts to shred the new chair*
*gives you a whole posse of chairs*
