Hey guys, let’s remember to keep Texas and the victims and refugees of Harvey in our prayers. They need it more than ever.

Thank you all so much!! This is a huge help.
To answer all your sorta-questions collectively, the post is probably more along the lines of a philosophical/personal experience/just for laughs post. If that makes sense. 😛 It is divided into…[Read more]

@salome01w4g @belegteleri Mood…and stuff. I suppose that might affect things.
@daughteroftheking True. Forcing myself to write…to be perfect in writing, never worked.

@GracieGirl I actually researched this once, and the general consensus was that 1,000 words is a good length. However, like @Daeus said, this is largely dependent upon the subject matter. KP and K.M. Wieland can get away with longer posts because they’re more like articles. Short stories work as long posts too, but when I write small snippets…[Read more]

2,000 words is a long post, for sure. But I read and enjoy a blog which goes well over that mark nearly every week. The key is keeping the content separated enough visually so that it doesn’t /look/ like it’s that long. And, like @Daeus said, content trumps everything.

Hey, guys!
I just have a quick question for all the bloggers out there: How long do your blog posts usually run word count-wise?
See, I’ve been doing a test run of my blog on a private scale to see if I can keep the schedule before I release it into the wider world of the internet. I just finished my first post today only to find it’s just over…[Read more]

Thank you so much everyone!!!! These are great ideas. @daeus I absolutely love the idea of writing form the plant’s POV. I may have to use that throughout the story, because I have no idea how many times I’ve looked at a plant and thought, “I wonder what’s going on inside their head.” Just kidding. Kinda. XD @that_writer_girl_99 That is a really…[Read more]

@daeus Oh, and if you reply to this, please do not mention anything you might have observed from reading my book unless its through email. I haven’t told anyone on KP except you about the book and I don’t want to spoil anything for them.
Thanks! 😛 -

Dragon Snapper has a problem.
Haha. *deadpan stare* Yes, I know. I melt chairs, and that’s a problem.
Sorry not sorry.
But in a more material sense, I have a problem with my book.
You see, I’m almost done. I’m so close…soooo close. Seriously, I can’t wait to finish it. But! I has problem. Not with plot. Not with climax. But simply, syntax.

@daeus Oh that’s good, because I wasn’t planning on sharing. 😛 I’m selfish like that.
Note: As a general rule, dragons are selfish, especially when it comes to gold.
Or story ideas.
Those too.

Oh, hey, sorry @daeus I didn’t see this…
I think I need some background on the characters first. And the story. Like, are you just writing a random story? Or writing with a goal in mind?

Tatiana replied to the topic 1st person POV? in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 8 months ago
I agree with @daeus. It is important to make sure that your character’s voice has personality and that the personality stays consistent throughout the narrative.
In general, I prefer how 1st person narratives sound in a story, and I’m very excited that you’ve decided to jump out of your comfort zone and try something new!

@joy I second what @daeus said
For one thing, there is A TON of fantasy out there, and from a person who likes things being realistic I would do it in real world. Also another thing maybe put a disclaimer that the historic details aren’t accurate. I like the idea! Daeus pretty much said everything I would have…. accept the Chinese…[Read more] - Load More
