Anne of Lothlorien started the topic Kapeefer Poem in the forum Poetry 8 years, 6 months ago
So, yeah, I did it.
I wrote a poem about us.
And @kate-flournoy loved it, so I decided to share it with y’all.
Here it comes… for all who want to read it
@hope @emma-flournoy @daeus @aratrea @dragon-snapper @michael-stanton @bluejay Can someone tag some more, my mind is going blank.I’m a Kapeefer!
(What rhymes with Kapeefer?!)

@daeus oh… *laughs* yeah I can do it for sure… hehee, 8,000 words is equal to four chapters for me. 😀

@daeus two weeks would probably be better for me but. I’d love to do it, who knows maybe I’ll have a lot of time and get it done fast. 🙂

@daeus Hmm… I might be able to do it (I find I often underestimate how quick I can do these things). I’d just like to ask about content, if there’s possibly anything some people might not be comfortable with?

@daeus a week you say? Is that the maximum deadline?

Louise Fowler replied to the topic The Golden Ziggurat in the forum Short Story Critiques 8 years, 6 months ago
@daeus 8,900 words? Do you have a deadline?

@daeus *nods* It is good… Reminds me of Nobody from Story Thieves by James Riley… *shivers* Why must I wait! *cough* Any way, it is a very intriging POV. *nods* Don’t worry James Riley didn’t do it like that though. Yours is different. I like it.

@Daeus
This is an amazing idea and I totally think you should continue it as a short stmy mind began to go on a bunch of inspiring rabbit holes. This is an amazing idea and I totally think you should continue it as a short story. -

@daeus Well…you said that you were going to write it as if it were his diary. I think it would be just as fine without. It’s seems as if the dates are extra. Write it in first person, but not as if he’s writing in his diary. … Also, I didn’t think that you’d go through different parts of his diary when I wrote that…and I also forgot that…[Read more]

I like the diary style, but I don’t think it fits the potential this has. What I mean is, I think it would be cooler in first person, more like an actual story. @daeus

*snorts* There are, in fact, nine writer’s corners, but only because the other ones grew to be so long that we had to stop using them. Actually…we should be coming up on the end of this one shortly.
Anyway, the purpose of the Writer’s Corner is simple–it’s a kind of accountability thing, where one of us will start writing, tag others to let…[Read more]

*blinks* Wow, @daeus, this is really neat. Definitely a cool concept. I agree with @dragon-snapper, though–I think it would make more sense if it was in first-person. Other than that, it sounds great. I’d definitely want to read more.

@daeus Hey! That is a pretty neat concept! I love how he gets to be the heroes neighbor. That’s awesome.
I agree with @perfectfifths that you should continue this, however, I think it’d be better if you didn’t write it from the perspective of his diary, and instead just his POV, first person.
But that’s it really. Otherwise I love it!

@daeus Wow! That’s really cool! And a really interesting concept of how a minor background character only exists when the hero is interacting with him.
I’m officially intrigued. You should definitely continue this. 😀

Why do I always forget about my own topics? *facepalm*
So first off @daeus You’re point about the lessons to be learned does open up a lot. I planned the second book by plotting out the theme first…I guess I should do that again, just for a national scale. And indeed it works very well. And usually, I would plot it out from beginning to end, I…[Read more]

Hm.. I’m not really planning on saying outright that the story is based on Christian life now in the book itself. So I guess it’s more of symbolic elements like you said I guess, @daeus.
Yeah, I think a lot of the things I want to add may depend on whatever else is going in too.

Elizabeth replied to the topic My New Fantasy Book Idea and Endeavor in the forum Fantasy 8 years, 6 months ago
Solid story idea. I think this could be really cool. Like @daeus and @kate-flournoy said, though, I think articulating exactly how the magic thing works could be tricky. But from what I’ve seen, it looks like you’re well on your way to solving it.
Everything that needs to be said has pretty much already been said here,…[Read more]

Hm… @daeus, I considered that and it didn’t seem as strange in my opinion. Satan himself used to be one of God’s chief angels so I don’t think that it’s far off that he could be using the same form of power for nefarious uses.
Other than that, would it make more sense that “magic” in this story is more like a power made by God and used by the…[Read more]
