Ah, yes @Daeus the wonders of writing. I still haven’t figured out if one of my cities is on the east coast or the west cost of my fantasy world…

@kballen Hi! That’s cool! I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice, but I want to now. My favorite food….hmmm…probably quesadillas, since I make those for lunch almost every day, if I can! 😸🌮🌮
@daeus Someone else told me about NaNoWriMo. It looked fun (and scary!), but since none of my good story ideas have plots yet, I’m sure I could never do it…[Read more] -

@jane-maree Hmm… that’s a hard one. I’d have to say that Rogue One and Revenge of the Sith tie for my favorite Star Wars film. Unfortunately, those are the ones where everyone dies. 🙂 From the way the trailers look, though, The Last Jedi will probably be my new favorite.
@daeus Yes, I am actually a male. 😉 Maybe we should do something to fix…[Read more]

@daeus Quite close! I’m actually an ENFJ. 🙂
I sing… well, pretty much everything, but especially Disney, musicals, and whatever else catches my ear. (I have a wide taste.)
Oh, boy, writing? They say dwarves’ tongues do run on when speaking of their own works! 😆 I typically write fantasy. I have several smaller finished stories from when I was…[Read more] -

@daeus That sounds really cool! It also sounds like something I’d write (only I’d do first or third person – probably first – just because that’s my writing preference)… 🙂

@daeus Hmmm. I’m intrigued. 😀 But, I seriously have no idea how that would work. I’d encourage you to give it a shot, write a snippet from it, and see if it works. (If you haven’t dome that already.) As for the POV character being the criminal, it depends what the crime was. I think I’d be disturbed if I found out “I” murdered someone, or…[Read more]

@daeus It sounds really interesting. The only experience I have with second-person is Choose Your Own Adventure stories.

@daeus I really like it, I don’t think it necessarily needs anything else. But if you really want something, the thing that comes to mind when you something ominous is (having read some of your story) the image of the goddess the main character keeps thinking of. Though I’m not sure where, or if it would be too in-your-face if you did that.

@daeus @aratrea If I wanted to submit a short story to be published on KP do I HAVE to give a picture of my actual face or can you just put a dragon instead of me or something. I hate my face and I’m not ready for a face reveal anyway. I kinda plan to wait for that when one (If not all) happens:
a. people care
b. it is an exciting moment BECAUSE…[Read more] -

@daeus *gasp* It’s so professional and traditional, I would run across the library to pick up that book!! XD I don’t have anything to suggest, mostly because I love it as-is. Nicely done!

@daeus I would definitely pick that book yp based on the cover. Its really cool 🙂 i approve.

@Daeus it’s pretty cool! You could make the shadows a little heavier which would be a very subtle ominous layer, or add a little shading to the white around the whole picture. Not sure though.

@daeus I like it! I agree with everyone else, I think a bit of something to make it subtly more ominous would be good. It almost strikes me as non-fiction, something I would read for history class.

@anyone-else- I’m taking a 2 week break from writing (I may be moving during that time) so I won’t be writing but I’ll still be able to do any feed back stuff ( Daeus). My stories need a break to kinda get some inspiration and do something besides try to write all day.-
lol yep 😉
-
Have fun breaking! 😀
That did not come out right.
*ahem* Have fun on your break! I’ll miss ya!-
@daughteroftheking that’s funny, My mind went to Taekwondo (which I took for a while) and we did an exercise called breaking which was kicking boards (some plastic that fit together like a puzzle so you could re-break them, and some wood.) so they wood break. 😛 😀
-
That’s neat! I just started Taekwondo, but I can’t beak anything yet. 🙂

hehe yeah

@Daeus wow. You’re right. That price is insane. 😛

I dunno, @daeus, but I think it looks fine as-is. The cover is really neat–and I mean that both literally and figuratively.

Ingrid replied to the topic Cover Feedback in the forum Publishing & Platform 8 years, 6 months ago
@daeus More texture in the background would probably enhance it…otherwise, it looks great! 😉 *many thumbs up*

@daeus *jaw drops* wow that looks really good… I wouldn’t change a thing personally but if you want to add something; maybe take Kate’s idea add a sunset shadow or something. Looks great! 🙂

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Cover Feedback in the forum Publishing & Platform 8 years, 6 months ago
@Daeus oooh! I really, really like it. You’re right— the clean, clear format is very smart and refreshing. A little texture in the background might improve on it, but just a little, and I might change my mind if I saw it.
A subtly ominous feature could work… but it would have to be very subtle to not overbalance the nice clean look. *wrinkles…[Read more] - Load More

Hey Cloudy! Yes–I definitely understood that and that would be fine. In this case, I think we’d prefer not to include a picture along with it (just a bio), but you definitely don’t need to give us a profile pic if you don’t want to. 🙂
Thank you! I hope to submit a story in the near future. 🙂
