@dragon-snapper That is AMAZING! I can’t believe it…that looks exactly like I imagined him! (Well, minus the anime/manga-ness…*cough*)
Ok. Maybe (maybe) I’ll post the first part of my Cole fanfic.
@daeus Thanks! I might post it… I’m still deciding.

@warrenluther04 Here he is! What do you think?
Cole Avis:
As for your fanfiction, I think it might be okay to post it so long as you credit that it’s based off the Star Wars Universe. 😀 If you still have concerns, I’d ask @aratrea or @daeus about that.

@Daeus OK.
@Overcomer If you see an Elizabeth Flournoy on your doc then, that’s me, using one of my sisters’ account because I don’t have one. Just so you’re warned, it’s not an intruding bot or anything. 😉 And since it’s technically yours first, if you want I can wait to beta-read it ’til you’ve already done so, ’cause that’d be totally fine. @Daeus Ahh, I remember that post! It was intriguing. I’d like to do it, unless you’re already too swamped with beta-readers, in which case I’d still want to just read it. ;P

If you’re still looking for readers, @daeus , I’m more than willing. My local libraries have been a desert lately, so I’m good and bored and full of unrealistically high expectations.
Which means I’m ripe for giving criticism– er, feedback. 😉 🙂

@daeus I’ve heard that people distrust emails with photos, but since I’m an artist and a large portion of my future email list would revolve around art, I’m not sure that would work. As you and Jane Maree suggested, I can always play around until I figure out what works for me and my subscribers. 🙂

Hi everyone,
I know that a lot of the advice/articles on this website pertain to writing novels, from which I’ve learned a lot, but I was wondering if there are any principles or characteristics which apply specifically to writing short stories?
At the moment I’m working on a short story for my writing class (due soon) and it’s pretty solid so…[Read more]

I don’t know who exactly is in charge of the coding and stuff for the forums, but I have found a few times now that after I post something, when I try to edit it, I click save, and the topic reloads etc… and my entire post is GONE! I can’t get it back, and I have to completely redo it!
Why is th…[Read more]

@Mariposa artwork would probably fit the bill too. Remember that you don’t have to stick with the one option forever. You can play around with every email you send out. 😛
@Daeus I’m curious that you say that. When I sent out my first newsletter I had no pictures or anything and the biggest lot of feedback I got was for “more photos and…[Read more]

Awesome!!
I was planning on articles, but have found out he thinks they are awful… so we’ll see how a few go over.
I think he’ll grasp it quickly… *if* he cares like you said.

I’m seriously considering creating an email list and I needed y’all’s sage advice. What are some ways to attract people to sign up? A free ebook is a good incentive, but right now I haven’t any books to offer. 😉 I was debating about having free short stories like Josiah, but I also thought about offering a free downloadable card (if that’s p…[Read more]

Calling all Kaapeefers!
I’m plotting the sequel to the novel I just finished writing and it is inspired by the French Revolution, but set 147 years from now. What sort of form of execution might we be using in place of a guillotine?
Please let your imagination run wild 😛

@inkling-for-christ 😀 That’s a cool idea.
I would say, definitely, fangirls can be dreamers, but being a fanperson doesn’t necessarily make you a dreamer. @daeus kind of already said that. Dreamers can be all kinds of people, people who believe in things no one else does, who see hope where others don’t, who aspire to things others don’t. They…[Read more]

Hey guys! I know that KP has lots of articles on this, but some of the options of building a reader base aren’t open to me. Like social media. I can’t do much of that.
Do you guys have any suggestions as to how I can promote my blog and writing to build a reader base?

So, in my new book, Firefly Town, there is a younger teenager, Josh, who’s deaf. He communicates with ASL, American Sign Language. The second main character, Clay, is hearing, but learned ASL to talk with him. Felicity, the MC, when she comes into town, meets Josh. She knows a few signs, from a deaf girl at college, and learns some more.
