@introvert_girl Sam really said it already, but you can also add a backstory to show why the character acts the way they do. The overall tone of the story will help too. I think though that the most important thing is proactivity, like Sam said.

It’s kinda funny too because Danielle has a really soft feel to it which…doesn’t exactly make me think of a dragon. lol. Don’t burn me with a ball of flame, please! I like the name. @That_writer_girl_99 I’m feeling slightly sentimental like you’re leaving, but you’re celebrating the fact that you’re not leaving. I find that utterly fascinating. Write that down somewhere. Happiness can be sad.

@dragon-snapper If the problem is just that your story seems too dismal, make sure there’s always an element of hope mixed in with the chaos and strive to focus on your characters’ yearnings/ambitions that drive them forward.
