@shannon I don’t know if it makes any difference, but I’ve been to Texas a couple times. 😀

@shannon dust, dirt, mountains, grass, little gas stations in the middle of nowhere, little small cactuses, and the shape of Texas with a cowboy hat leaning on the tip. 😀

@shannon Everything’s bigger in? 😉 XD
Big hats, big belt buckles, big accents (well, not big, but thick) Uhm… I don’t generally think cowboys, but I like the idea 😉 I also think of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on the Muppet Show, and Dale singing Deep in the Heart of Texas 😀
*goes to listen to it now*

I do not know how to write a Christ-figure, but Deaus and Hope Ann seem to have a pretty good idea. My friend’s and my co-writing project is going to have some sort of a Christ-figure as well, but we’re not up to that yet, so we haven’t figured out all the details.
As for other Christ-figures in fiction, there is, of course, Aslan of Narnia. I…[Read more]

@Shannon in some ways it’s similar to British. But in others it’s absolutely not at all. XD It’s complicated. XP

@GracieGirl It’s good. Until you’re standing in it and it’s freezing cold and blowing your hair into your eyes and throwing sticks at your face. But yep. Wind is nice. XD

@DaughterOfTheKing as The Impossible Girl said. XP And in the middle of words too. Things like ‘snark’ we pronounce as ‘snah-k’ (more like snack, because snacks are good. XD). The name ‘martha’ we pronounce ‘mah-tha’
I personally would pronounce Australia as ‘eh-strayl-yah’ (with the ‘l’ only barely present.)
Some Rs we do say though. Like all…[Read more] -

@dragon-snapper That’s great! That is really, really great! He looks so similar to how I picture him 😀 Thanks so much!

@Dragon-snapper There are lots of different sorts of American accents. But one of the most prominent parts about it is the fact that you actually pronounce the ‘r’s in words. Aussies don’t do that. Other than that, it’s kinda hard to explain…

@Shannon nooooo we absolutely don’t have accents. You do. Of course. XD
-
Jane Maree replied to the topic Writers' Corner #7 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 8 months ago
@Shannon basically you just say that you’re writing and anyone else can join you and it’s accountability. (I’m also really bad at explaining. xD)

@Shannon WELL HERE I GO.
Texas makes me think of…hotdogs, people with huge American drawl-y accents, and cowboy hats.
That is the end of my stereotypical envisioning. XD
