@emma-flournoy I’m glad you like them 🙂 How’ve you been otherwise?

Well, I was going to tell you I’ve been doing well, but since you asked, sickness has hit, along with a bunch of hypersensitive achiness and a cracking headache. Sooo, I’m technically not doing too well. 😛 But OTHER THAN THAT, I’m doing pretty well, all things considered. Enjoying the switch to long-sleeves and being thankful for fireplaces. ;)…[Read more]

Well I hope the art hasn’t stopped now that inktober is over. Please keep posting some art. I’d love to see it.
Anyway, I’m still working with the ink pens and am finally working on creating illustrations for my children’s book so I’d thought I’d throw these out there. This is my WIP 🙂

@emma-flournoy Hey love! Everything is going well. I’m ready for Christmas break already. Everything has been so busy with papers due and exams. I’m super thrilled because I’m picking up my children’s book again and now am finally working on a couple illustrations. I only have a tiny bit, but I’ll throw them on a thread and tag you in them 🙂

Hey, that’s great! I’m going to hop over and see ’em now. 😀

@catwing @cloudy Because I’m self-taught, I’ve figured out techniques by experimenting. So with that, keep drawing and playing around.
Rule number 1
Don’t go around trying to make your art perfect. The best thing is to make art just for the sake of making art. Even if you think all of your art looks like crap, keep practicing and experimenting.…[Read more] -

@catwing Since I did this with acrylic paints it works well with water, I usually just put my brush in the paint then dip it in water. Pretty much all of those are just flicking my brush and trying to control it as much as I possibly can. There is a little layer of white paint on the white witch, basically, I was just super careful with my angled…[Read more]

@salome01w4g @catwing @daughteroftheking @catwing Awwwwww you guys are so sweet. I’m actually self-taught. 7-year-old me loved How to Draw books and it’s sort of developed into my own weird, no single style kind of art. I wish I had more time for long projects though, those 15, 20-minute ink sketches aren’t quite satisfying me 🙂 I want to pull…[Read more]

@cloudy @daughteroftheking I’ve been trying to do some little sketches but unfortunately I haven’t had time for much. I’ve been really busy with midterms and papers, and October’s turned into a super hectic month. But I bought copic markers though, and have had a lot of fun trying to figure out techniques with them 🙂 I’ll post a couple for you I…[Read more]

@dekreel Diana Wynne Jones wrote Howl’s Moving Castle and A.S. Peterson is actually Andrew’s brother. And A.S. Peterson’s wife is Jennifer Trafton. 🙂 So there, Peterson family tree for ya 😉

@dekreel Welcome! I’m glad you finally made your way to the forum. It’s a cool place. Elizabeth was so nice to summon me over here because I too am a fan of Wingfeather. Have you read The Wingfeather Tales? That’s probably my favorite because almost all of my favorite authors are in one place. Have you read any of Andrew Peterson’s brother’s or…[Read more]

@emily It’s not really a competition. It’s mainly just so people will get in the habit of drawing for fun more often. I like to describe it as the artist’s version of NaNoWriMo.

@emily It’s basically a huge drawing challenge where thousands of artists draw an ink sketch every day for the month of Oct.

*dumps past three days of art* Yesterday was my birthday and I spent it at Disney which is why the Mickey and Minnie and Wendell Berry is also clearly fueling me with inspiration this Inktober.

@cloudy, Aye! It’s not my favorite, but I did have to go with the underwater theme today. It was good practice though, even if I find it is slightly too messy for my taste. 🙂
