*Anna glances at Arianwen and slows a step to walk along side her* “It’s a dream, for all I can tell. Except I know it’s not a dream. So…no, I don’t know where we are thought I heartily wish I did.” *She clenches her jaw and shakes her head* “I’ve a battle to get back to. Hopefully this will be one of those cases where no time passes when I’ve…[Read more]

Anna…muttering to self: “And how exactly is heading inward going to get us off this island? Isn’t there a boat or helicopter.”
Scarlett: Seriously? You didn’t get here by boat or helicopter, did you?
Maybe I should just go back to sleep.
    And get eaten?
That was sarcasm and you understood it very well.
    ‘Course I did.

*Anna looks down to examine herself* “Well, I have my laser pistol, but there are only four shots left and it appears I’ve not brought any extra energy pack here, wherever ‘here’ is. And I have my dagger, a small medical kit…oh yes, and my odds and ends pouch. A needle, some thread, a condensed granola bar, paper and pen, and a little Lego Bilbo.”

*Anna steps from a group of trees, raises her pistol, and fires at the creature* *the creature collapses with a gasp* *Anna pauses, slowly looking over the rest of the group then frowns and slips her pistol back into her holster* “One shot gone and I’ve not been here five minutes. Anyone care to tell me what’s going on?”

Anna, looking around but can’t see anyone: “What on…I just went to sleep and this happens?”
Scarlett: Serves you right for falling asleep right before what will probably be the largest battle of the rebellion.
“But…I’ve got to get back. I’ve got to get home. What do I have…”
    You have your laser pistol.
“With five rounds. Yes, I know.”

Chronicles is a cool word that has to do with history. Could it be The Chronicles of (whatever)?

Also I looked up history in the thesaurus and came up with Yesteryear. It’s a cool word, but I’m not sure if that’s what you want. Maybe Yesterage or something. 😉 Make up a word or merge two words together to get what you want.

  • Perhaps the island itself can be a portal of sorts; or there’s a portal in the center of the island and the characters have to get there (is it guarded by someone or do they just have to figure out how to use it?) and use it to get home.

Here’s some music I’ve started listening to. There’s a whole list and I really like it. Well, I like most of what I’ve listened to so far; I can’t vouch for everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHP2GgxYddY&index=1&list=RDxHP2GgxYddY

  • This sounds like fun, if I can keep up. 🙂

My character is Anna West. She’s 18, a bit on the petite side, and has green eyes and dark brown hair. She is very organized, used to tight situations, has experience with fighting, guns, and information gathering. She lost part of her family in an attack two years ago. She’s a strong Christian and talks…[Read more]

Ooooo, the boredmuse…is that meant to distract me from what I’m supposed to be doing or give me more ideas than I could possibly write?

  • Loyalty could be another driving passion. Either loyalty to some old comrade or leader so that the friendship is more important than the bad stuff the other person wants to do. Or loyalty to a wrong cause…or even a good cause, such as justice, but going about it the wrong way/or with no mercy.

The Sign of the Scarlet Dragon…this is actually for a book of mine. 🙂

  • Hope Ann replied to the topic Chatter in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years ago

No, though I read the book (assuming it’s the same story).
