@dekreel HI 😀
Hm… I’ve actually never thought of that 😛 I should add it to my character questionnaire XD
How’s the KeePer Adventure going?

@dekreel *is drawn in by the smell of chocolate* oh my…those look good. Maybe I could use some to bribe my character to get through this intensive interview? 😉

@Aratrea Just because I’m wondering, is that side-line bar thing of most recent forum topics/replies gone forever? *mournful blink* It was incredibly helpful and I just wondered. I know there’s the the recent forum topics page, but that’s not the same as just having the current threads right for you on the side of whatever page you may be on.
Or,…[Read more] -

@Dekreel I like it! Your portrayal of me is quite forbearing; in reality I’d probably be more cynical about the whole thing. XD But I’m happy that I’m in there! I liked the part about the letter from (or to, whichever it was) Aslan, too. 😉

@His-Instrument What they said. Exactly. 😉 If you still want someone to read the first few chapters, I could probably do that. If you still think it’s necessary. The premise really interests me at least, and I know already I wouldn’t put a book down just after that.

*waves hand around* Yes, yes…I know I said I’d see you all next year, but this is a question that couldn’t wait any longer.
Currently, I’m trying to write a novel. Too many novels actually, which is where this problem came up. You see, I finished Sector One, so I’m trying to write the sequel to it. But I’m 71,000 words in with 30,000 more to…[Read more]

Identical thoughts to @daeus Good premise, and if the entire story isn’t going to be as dark in the first chapters, you just want to include enough glimpses of light to indicate that. I don’t personally have a problem with dark, depressing stories when there’s a point to them, but you don’t want to unintentionally indicate that’s the type of story…[Read more]

Okay, so the premise of the story is: There’s a murderer on the loose. Only one man knows where, exactly, this mystery criminal is, and he isn’t talking. It’s up to a young, poverty-stricken soldier, desperately trying to support his siblings, to find the murderer–purportedly a woman named Ileesa Talyntor. The good news is, the reward for…[Read more]

@Daeus sounds good to me. 😛 Honestly I haven’t studied it as much as I should have. But from what I know of Pinterest, that’s a very solid plan.

@gabbyj I did–it was a great experience! It worked quite differently then than I believe it does now, but I learned a lot of Scripture passages through that and grew a lot because of it over these three years.
That’s great that you’ve been able to discover new authors through our interviews. 😀 I’m thrilled that we’re able to interview so many…[Read more]

Jane Maree replied to the topic How Do I Write a Sad Ending?! in the forum Plotting 8 years, 4 months ago
@jenwriter17 Sad endings are tricky to write, but also a ton of fun. Your character DOESN’T have to succeed in the story goal (if they do, there’s less sadness, in a way), but they SHOULD grow themeatically. If they fail in the goal, but grow and learn and have a great character arc, that will satisfy readers just as much.

You could have them vanish into a portal, and have the person who created the portal kindly tell the remaining characters that the other ones “are perfectly happy” (it’s pretty cliche, but could work 😉 )
You could just have a quick scene where the characters are leaving to fight for other noble causes.
You could have them…[Read more]

@everyone Would you character rather be turned into a dragon for his greed (Eustace Scrubb) or fight a witch that turns into a dragon (Prince Philip).

Unfortunately that plugin was one of the plugins that broke the site a couple weeks ago. >.> Hence why it was taken down.
Eventually we’d like to get that back up, but that requires a lot of behind-the-scenes web work to fix that and allow for other features, and that web work will take a while to accomplish.
Ahh… That’s too bad.
Heh, I don’t doubt it! Well, it’s seriously admirable all the stuff you guys do to keep this place in tip-top shape and most user-friendly possible. We appreciate it. 😉
Thanks!
